Fiance turned 25 a week before the proposal, and I turned 25 a few months later.  We celebrated 2 years as a couple a few days after he popped the question.

Mid-20s when engaged, and started dating in our late teens. I’m happy with our timeline, especially since we weren’t actively trying to move towards marriage. We just grew up and matured together, and got engaged at a time that seemed mutually right.

I was 20 and he was 21 🙂 We dated through high school and college, so like 5-6 years at that point?

We will be 23 and 24 when we get married – long engagement!  Not because of our ages, just because of finances.  We’ve graduated and are employed now and saving up for our wedding that’s in a few months!

I will tell you that no one, EVER, has told me I’m too young except for here on the Bee.  I take it with a grain of salt.  We know who we are as individuals and we very much have our ducks in a row for setting up a life and a home together.  We are some of the most responsible people we know – our families included haha.

alohakay:  i don’t think 24 is old, but it’s not too young to get married if you’ve found the right person for you.

We dated for three months, during which he lived with me part of the time. Then I moved 300 miles and moved in with him. Then after 9 months together, 10 months since we’d met, he proposed. We have now been together almost two years and engaged over a year. Fiance was 31 when he proposed, I was 25. When we get married he’ll be 32 (and he thinks he’s old!) and I’ll be 26.

I’m not engaged yet…or even in a relatinoship…but I am hoping to get engaged by New Years.  I am almost 32 years old.

MrsSpagan:  Usually guys have a different age perception than women when it comes to being “old” or “young” for marriage. Most men do not feel ready or “old enough” for marriage until a bit later than most women.  So the fact that your fiance is my age and feels that he’s “rather on the old side” to be a first time groom, makes me feel that I am every bit correct to feel that I am too old to be single and celibate.  So for everyone who says I shouldn’t wish to be proposed to by New Years…they can stick it.

ihope2014isbetter:  tbh he doesn’t feel he’s too old to be a groom I don’t think, though he wouldn’t want to leave it too much longer as he doesn’t want to be an old father.

I was 28 and he was 26 when he proposed.  We were dating 5 years when he proposed and will be over 6 and a half years by the time we get married.

I dont think couples dont last because they are young, but I do think couples need to know each other WELL and have been through an array of life experiences and situations that they have to work through.  Things such as money, religion, kids and what you want out of life definately need to be discussed before marriage.  But you can be young and still make a marriage work for the long haul.  You just have to do what feels right for you!

I just got engaged last week, but I’m a week away from being 26, and Fiance turned 26 in November. We dated for 5 1/2 years. Our wedding is set for the day before our 6th dating anniversary.

alohakay:  I’m 29, he’s 32. Right now we’ve been together 15 months. We’re unofficially engaged (waiting on the ring arrival too make it official) and we will have been together 2 years (& 12 days) when we get married in January

He was 31, I was 26 when we got engaged and had been together for 8 years.  I agree with the bees about it more important to have shared experiences and be in  a similar place in life.  We struggled while my DH was working and I was still hours away at school but you figure out how to communicate as a couple.  Age does not accurately reflect maturity either.
