    Timley thread…I found my first one 2 days ago.  I’m 26.  It actaully wasn’t gray, it was pure WHITE.  And I have really dark hair so that sucker stood out.

    My friend found my first gray hair on my head last week ๐Ÿ™ I was very sad about it. I’m 25.

    I first found a couple in high school, now I’m getting worried, eek. But I’m 23 now and generally only find like 1 a year. My mom had enough grey that she felt the need to start dying her hair when she was 30… but she also had a 3, 5, and 7 year old at that point, so maybe that contributed!

    My FI’s oldest brother went from full black to total salt-and-pepper in a week when his wife gave birth and she and their baby girl both almost died.

    I was 17!! SEVENTEEN. Luckily I dyed my hair blue right afterwards. I dye all the time now. My grow out has a few here and there.

    I’m 29 but haven’t found any.  I do dye my hair but I’m pretty slack at doing it and don’t notice any grey in the roots so far.  My mom started really going grey around late 40s/50s so maybe it’ll be until then for me.

    I haven’t ever found any, and I’m 26. But I have dark hair, and I am sure I will start going gray any minute now!

    I don’t remember how old I was when they were found. But I never saw them for myself till maybe 2 years ago. When they were first found though, my hair dresser found them but she said because of where they were I didn’t need to dye to cover them up.

    I don’t have any yet (at 33) and my mother didn’t get her first until she was 55. However, my Fiance started getting grey at 21! He has a lot of it now! He has very dark, almost black hair and very fair skin.

    I was about 18?  I got a few more in college, then in my 20s it got out of control and I started dying.  I am open about it, but apparently my coworkers didn’t believe that I was serious because one of the older ladies was talking about getting hers done and I said I use a particular brand at home and it’s been working for years.  They all looked at me like I was nuts (I’m one of the youngest employees in our office).

    I think it is genetic- my mom was salt & pepper gray by the time she was 20.

    @nearlymarriedlass:  I’m 24 (almost 25) and started noticing white hairs in the past year. It’s not to the point where I have to dye my hair, though. My brother has a lot more white hairs than I do. Our mother needed to start dyeing her hair at age 25 to cover them!

    I’ve read that grey hair is largey genetic, but other factors such as stress and nutrition can play a role in when people go grey.

    @nearlymarriedlass: I had them at 11, luckily not the top. Think I had a stressful upbringing. I’ve noticed the past year (age 32) that a few more elsewhere on my head have appeared.

    @nearlymarriedlass:  I was 14 or 15 ๐Ÿ™‚ Its definitely genetic!

    Im 20 now and you can see them as my dye grows out ๐Ÿ˜›

    My mother was almost exactly the same, she has a full head of grey and has had since she was about 30. So, Im looking forward to turining 30 – NOT!

    My family goes two ways though, my grandfather (mum’s dad) has a full thick head of silver and white hair, but my dad and his brothers all have just a strap of hair around the back of their head, but full colour! ๐Ÿ˜› It’s funny though because each of my brothers is already going one way or the other! ๐Ÿ˜‰
