Mid to late twenties for me. I’m one of the last of my friends to get married (late twenties). Literally almost ALL of my friends are married with kids, or married and currently pregnant.

It’s amazing how different is is depending on where you’re from. I’d say for me it was late 20’s/early 30’s. Major pregnancy boom now. Out of my gang of friends in the past 2-3 years there’salways one pregnant. Now I’m one of them 🙂

I know of people who got married and had kids super young (19-20), but I wasn’t friends with them. Out of my actual friends group, the earliest was like 22-23 married and 24-25 baby.

Most of my family and friends waited until mid-30s.

I was the lone straggler. I didn’t meet Darling Husband until my late 40s!

@soontobemrsm11:  there were 2 distinct shifts in my high school grad class.  There were a bunch that got married by 22 and then there was a second wave that started at 26 (we’re now 30) the last 4 years have had a lot of weddings.  Sadly, several of the early marriages have hit really rocky patches, some have made it through some have not.

It really depends! I’m turning 23, and none of the people I knew from

high school are getting married or having babies. But I’m in a grad program, and the majority of women in it are engaged/married/a mother.

I still haven’t hit that point yet. I’m only 20, so I’m still at the point where everyone is still at school and I’m the odd one out for being engaged and living away from home!

@soontobemrsm11:  I would say there were two waves, so to speak. The first time was at the end of university. The second wave was in my mid-twenties and is slowly dwindeling.

@soontobemrsm11:  Ahahah I am the first of my friends to be engaged! So I’m the one starting the trend really. We’re both 21, and most of our friends are in the 20-24 age range. So we’re getting the ball rolling!

The girls I went to school with married/had babies young. I was a bridesmaid in my best friend’s wedding when we were 19. She had a baby a year later. Another friend from highschool married at 19 and divorced a year later because her equally young husband was cheating. Those are the two I think of right away. The girl who divorced at 19 became pregnant a few years later and had two babies out of wedlock. Her two younger sisters also followed suit. I can think of three other girls that had babies a few years after high school.

SO’s younger sister has gone through three pregnancies and two marriages in the time we have been together.

There are a couple of really nice, innocent, and dorky guys I was friends with in high school  who ended up meeting older women with children. In both cases, they married and had babies ( or had a baby and then married ) with these women within a year. I do feel that they were preyed upon. One of them was still a virgin. Both had good jobs and were lonely.

As of now, most people that I was close to when I was younger have married or had children or even divorced. I’ve seen a big boom in out-of-wedlock babies. Teen pregnancy may have gone down, but twentysomething pregnancies with dirtbags has skyrocketed.

So, basically, people have been getting married and pregnant all around me for the last decade, not including my own older siblings who were all married by the time I was 13. I have a 23-year-old niece, a 15-year-old nephew, a 6-year-old niece, and a 3-year-old great niece. My oldest niece became pregnant and then married at 20.

I’m 26 and have *some* friends getting married, but I still wouldn’t say everyone is getting married yet

@soontobemrsm11:  For me it has been in the last year.  24-25.  I got married at 21, though, when no one was getting married yet.  Now, everyone I went to law school with is getting engaged/married and popping out babies. I was the first to get married, but I am not planning to have a child any time soon.

We had a reunion 5 years after high school graduation and a few girls had children already but it felt more random : most of us were still students, doing bachelors or master’s degree. This year was our 10th year after graduation reunion. I couldn’t go due to funerals in my FI’s family, but one of my friend gave me a feedback (because I helped to organize the event) and she said there were about 7 girls pregnant, and a dozen who had kids somewhere in the 5-year gap between the 2 reunions. We were only 60 to graduate that year, so 7 out of 45 girls maybe, is a lot. That means age 26-27 : in average they did a bachelor + master’s degree + spent 1 or 2 years working before having a baby.

As for wedding, I told a few times on the Hive, people don’t really get married anymore in Québec, or if they do, it’s after they had kids, a house, and are all settled down. Again, a few of them got married, but maybe 3 out of the bunch.

Recently, so mostly when I was 20. I think half the girls I know and/or went to school with are either engaged, married, pregnant, already have a child, or some combination of two.
