My DH and I have decided to start TTC in the autumn of 2017, when I will be approaching 33 (born ’84). Just curious what age you other ladies are or plan to be when starting TTC! I realise 34 is not super young to have your firstborn but we’re only just married and still have some travels to do and alone-time to have before starting a family. 🙂

We started ttc when I was 34 and I got pregnant right before I turned 35. Yes I was a bit older but we weren’t ready before then.

I think for each person and their situation the timelines will vary quite drasticall. But it sounds like you are doing what works for you and your DH which is great. I agree as newlyweds it’s nice to have a little “you” time before creating “us” time with the babies. My DH and I were together 7 years before we got married at age 26. We decided to NTNP the month of our 2 year wedding anniversary (thinking it would take 6 months or so). We were blessed to have concieved on our anniversary trip and we are not expecting our little one in February of 2017–We’ll both be 28!

I had my son at 33. I got pregnant the month I went off birth control pills! No waiting around!
I know we’re unusual in that it happened so fast. I should also mention that I had very bad complications with a massive blood clot that nearly killed me – so I’m forbidden from having more. Choosing to wait til 33 worked out well for us – we got married at 23, so had 10 years to finish university, travel, and make some $$ before the baby came along. I just would have liked a few more kids, but obviously it just wasn’t meant to be
I think early 30’s is a good time to start. Of course, it’s all so very personal – depending on your career, education, etc… At least in your early 30s you’re still young enough to bounce back from the trauma of pregnancy, and you have the energy to chase a little one. Waiting any longer and things get complicated – It’s harder to get pregnant, and there are more risks of health problems.

I was also born in 84. I got pregnant right after I turned 29 (had her at almost 30) with my first and got pregnant with #2 at 31, closer to 32. 2.5 years will be between them. Definitely did not want kids before 30.

We are planning on TTC in the next 2-3 years which will make us 28-29. We want a few years to ourselves and Fiance is starting a PhD program this fall and we don’t want to add the stress of kids to the first few years of the program.

Me and Fiance have kind of unofficially decided when I’m 28, I’m currently 26. It’s funny in my early 20s I imagined it would be when I was 26 but now that I am I feel really unprepared and young.

Turning 25 in September, and just stopped using BC, so we are letting whatever happens, happen!! DH is almost 30, and has a fantastic, financially stable job, as do I. He wanted to be a father before turning 30, and I wanted to be a “younger” mother (personal health reasons). We were going to wait until Summer of 2017 but with no trips planned for the next year, it was almost like “what are we waiting for now??” 🙂
