Honestly, by about $5000. It was suppose to be a $20,000 wedding and it ended up being around $25,000. My parents paid and they did not complain though! My sister went over too and my dad said we both ended up with in a few hundred dollars of each other!

Right now still planning on staying in budget but have yet to add up the little extra stuff I added to the budget (but that is why I increased the budget for these little extras.)

Our estimated budget (before I really knew how much things cost) was $25K. We tripled that….you do the math because I hate typing out the numbers.

Looking like $6K unless we make some more cuts somehow…Suggestions?

Catering is the LARGEST chunk by far. We cut about 15 people. I would like to cut about 20 more.

planning to DIY flowers…minus buying dried lavender bouts/bouquets on etsy but that’s going to be around $50 for over 15 people

At the begininng we thought 10k sounded like a good number….after speaking with my parents we realized it wouldn’t really cover what we were wanting/ needing. We set it at 20k, but it has quickly gown to 35k. Thankfully we’ve have had help from both parents or this would have been a much different wedding. Though, we were lucky to have the support from our parents to get what was “needed”, I think many beautiful weddings have be done for far far less. 🙂

We went over by almost double. We also were terribly unrealistic about how much it costs to throw a wedding in Southern California, even on a budget.
