I have an emerald cut e-ring. Yesterday, for the first time in real life I met another person with an emerald cut e-ring. I’ve had my ring for over 2 years, mind you. It took that long for me to come across someone IRL with the same cut. I find it interesting because so many bees post about emerald cut e-rings, but this is the first time I’ve met someone IRL with it. The trend in my area has been round cut for years, and now it’s round cut with halos. I’m out of the trend here. Do you find yourself out of or part of the ring trend in your area?
FYI – this isn’t a thread where one style is deemed “better” than another. It’s just about what’s trendy vs your ring style.

I have a radiant solitaire, I know one other woman with a radiant in real life. I’m one I’d the few I know with a solitaire, most have halos of some sort.

Most of the rings I’ve seen around me are halos (rounds and cushions), however my ring seems to be fairly common amongst larger populations (round brilliant with sidestones).

Not trendy but popular if that makes sense-plain round four prong solitaire 🙂
ps I’ve never seen an emerald on someone irl! Love them though.

I see a lot of solitaires here, or solitaires with a diamond band. Mine has a twisted micropave band so I don’t see many of those, but other than that it’s similar to what’s common here.

I’ve only seen a couple of three stone, most are solitaire or solitaires with pave. My mum has a three stone but it’s her replacement reing, her original was a cluster

I honestly haven’t seen a “most common” around me. I see solitaires, halos, antique rings, side stones. Big, little. Round, princess, emerald. My boss has a sapphire with trillion cut diamond side stones. But I live in an urban area, work at a hospital, and ride the city bus so I see people from all walks of life!

I voted trendy because many of the rings of those I know or see around my area are Multi-stone (whether that’s three stone or something else), have halos, and micropave… but I have never seen my actual ring anywhere! And even the store where Darling Husband ordered and picked out my ring, hasn’t seen one like it either, other than when he bought it.
Sorry the last one is kind of blurry and dark, but its the closest one I have of the ring offhand.

I have a round solitaire. I work in an office complex with about 60 women, and there are only a few round solitaires. the trend here (and has been for years) is princess cut, .5-1 carat center. most are wedding sets that match (came together in a set). only a few yellow gold, almost all white. NO ONE has a gap between their rings or mismatched bands. I thought I was super progressive for having a round solitaire (though it is white gold) and am looking for a band that is not matchy matchy. But I picked it before finding this site, turns out round solitaire may be the most common:) but here in my neck of the woods, mine is still unique:)

Mine is a tanzanite marquise. Gemstones are pretty uncommon from what I’ve seen, but I’ve seen tons of women with marquise cuts. Though most of them are diamonds and quite small (I’m guessing around .25.)

I haven’t seen another infinity banded ring in person yet, so I guess uncommon.
I hardly ever look at e-rings of people though. Of my 3 engaged/married friends, one has an heirloom vintage ring unlike any I’ve seen before, and the other 2 have simple pretty solitaires. Not a huge sample size!
Edit: Just remembered two facebook friends with infinity rings, but I haven’t seen the girls in person in like 5+ years, let alone their rings didn’t exist back then!

howtobeawife: well i dont know many engaged people my age and i was the first out my friends. one of my best girl friends just got engaged though and she’s got different setting, band and cut. of the people my age i know of who are engaged i dont no anyone else with diamond set shoulders, most people have plain round court bands with one solitaire.

I thought my ring is very common but in real life, I only seen one woman have same style. Mine is round with pave.
Women I seen is plain solitaire, round halo with side stones, quite a few princess cut, three stones. As for emerald cut, I only see one emerald cut was a girl I ran into the mall.. It was a beautiful emeral cut on a plain band…so clear and shiney… I drool all over it haha

I live in a major city and I commute on public transportation so I see a fair amount of rings and I’d say all of them are pretty different. I have a round brilliant on a diamond band, I’ve seen it before but I wouldn’t say it’s trendy. Probably the opposite, classic 🙂
