Regardless of my preference on style, I think you really need to think about the location/weather in choosing your dress. This dress is going to be insanely hot and sweaty.

milabeehappy :  Why not try something different from what you’ve posted? Those dresses are basically the same style with minimal differences.  I think the following styles would be really becoming on you; additonally they would provide a sleeker, longer silhouette, and their price is great. They’re from Boutique 1861, based in Canada.

at $453.88:

at $370.39:

Personally I think this dress shape cuts you off and makes you look your height. Nothing wrong with being short, but I think a more sleeker silhouette without the ruffles and busyness at the base would look great on you. You have a great figure, maybe try and go out of your comfort zone of this shaped dress?

The dress is nice but is it quite heavy? For an August wedding.

I think, FWIW,  that the big ruffly bottom actually doesn’t  add any height illusion and that big thick  blingy  belt not only  cuts you neatly in two , but falsely broadens the appearance of your  waist.

Not  that you don’t look good, OP, you do, But  I think you could look  better still  . Do try an A line  or a ballgown , these boards are full of posts  from  petite women who were blown away at how they looked in  them.

milabeehappy :  I’m also 5’2 and my husband is 6’3. I wore an A line and didn’t feel like I looked short. Have you tried any on? I found the style you have on here to make me look short. And I kind of think it does the same to you.

Here’s my drop waist A line:
