Ours was 4 months and it dragged on. I think it would have gone a lot faster if we had been planning a traditional wedding though, because we would have been more busy. Our entire wedding took a few hours to plan total haha. I just spent most of the 4 months twiddling my thumbs waiting.

All told, my engagement will be 33 months — almost three years.
That sounds like a ridiculous amount of time when I type it out here, and there were times where the individual days dragged on, but in actuality it has flown by. I think the less time you have to go before your wedding, the slower it goes. This summer is going to fly by, and then the holidays always do, but I can imagine January – May of 2016 going really really slow.

Our engagement was 18 months, months 1-8 went by quickly as I was in school, travelled to India and finished my thesis, majority of plannign done in this time, month 9-14 were super slow then we had our stag and doe (Canadian), bridal shower and wedding stuff booked every weekend until our May 9 day. One month away and I wish time would slow down a bit.
Overall there are phases that are fast and slow

I was engaged for 14 months and it felt like forever going through it. I am a huge planner and had everything booked in the first month or so and then it was hell just sitting around waiting. The few months before the wedding there were details to attend to and excitement and all. Now that it’s over I miss the planning and details so enjoy it while you can!!

We’ve been engaged for three years now 🙂 hopefully that makes you see your wedding day will be here fast!

We had a 15 month engagement. It flew by. Hard to believe our wedding was almost a month ago, it’s nuts.

Ours went really fast. Our engagement was only 8 months, and then 7 once we started booking venues and everything else. It did take a lull around months 4-5 when nothing was really going on, though. Then once July hit when my dress came in, and invitations were mailed in August – it flew!

We’ve been engaged since Nov. 2013. It went slow at first, but these last few months have FLOWN by. I can’t believe how soon the wedding day will be here. It’ll be here before I know it and there’s still so much to do!

We got engaged in October 2014 and are getting married in November 2015, so a 13-month engagement for us. Our goal was to get as much planning done as possible early on so we wouldn’t be stressed at the end, and we’ve pretty much accomplished that. (The planning stuff, not stress reduction, lol.)
But now I see that our plan wasn’t so great. I still have seven months to go and not a lot of wedding-related chores left, so I’ve had time to keep thinking of more and more and more elements to add to our wedding. I’m resisting as much as I can so I don’t go over my budget.

We had a 13 month engagement. During the process, it felt like it was dragging..when the wedding got here it felt like we had only been engaged a short time. It really does go so fast, even if it doesn’t feel like it!

I’ve been engaged for almost a year now, and let me tell you it has FLOWN by! The first few months went by quickly for me because I got super excited and dove into planning. Then it dragged a little bit once the big stuff was booked, but that time of year (fall/winter) usually drags for me anyway. Now we’re 3 months away and I’m freaking out BECAUSE THERE IS SO MUCH I STILL NEED TO DO OMG! I keep having nightmares about all these details going wrong because I haven’t planned them yet. 2015 has been a blur so far and I’m sure the remaining 3 months of my 14 month engagement will continue to fly by. Enjoy it, your day will come quickly!

My engagement is exactly one year and I’m getting married in six days 😀
If you are having a small to medium wedding (under 100 guests), no bridal party, and choosing a turn key solution venue (meal, decor, ceremony and reception at one place), you don’t need that much time to plan a wedding.
A six to nine month engagement is just right.
