Drink a protein shake after your weights workout to make sure you build the muscle.

If you build your muscle, you will probably look like you did at 110 but it will be at 115-120.  Muscle weighs more than fat and thus takes up less space.

This is not correct. She is not going to build 5-10 pounds of muscle while eating at such a severe deficit. She’s not going to build any muscle, and will actually probably burn off her existing muscle on this extreme diet/cardio kick.

Even gaining just one pound of muscle weight for a woman would take not only weight training dedication, but most likely eating at a surplus. She’s not going to gain muscle just by drinking protein shakes.

@Tatum:  She said she weight trains.  If she weight trains and drinks protein, it will repair and thereby build her muscle.  She may not gain 5-10 lbs of muscle by tomorrow, but what I was saying is that if she did gain about 5-10 lbs of muscle, it’s not like she would look like she did at 120, she will still look like she did at 110.

@Tatum:  Yup…..you definitely need to eat more….

I do high protein as well, but mainly becuase I’ve cut out “bad carbs” (ie white bread, sugar etc)…and most processed foods….if it’s not a plant or animal I don’t eat it…

I really think (and yeah I know you don’t want lectures) you need to eat more…I would eat at least 1200 cals and about 70 grams protein….

@KatyElle:  That is what I was thinking… When I gained 30 lbs I look like a whole different person. OP and I are the same height too!

I went from 110 lbs to 140 lbs and there was a drastic difference… If I crammed myself into a 110 lbs it would get stuck on my shoulders.

@mrskopp2be

She is not going to build ANY muscle on 800 calories per day, no matter what she’s doing for weight training. She will actually burn off her existing muscle on that kind of deficit.

If your hair wasn’t different lengths in the two pictures I would have thought they were taken at the same time.  You look great.

I think you can lose the 30lbs in 2-3 months based on what you described.  I am around your height and lost 25lbs recently.  Granted, some of that was lost due to stress.  However, once I saw I was losing and became conscious of what I was putting into my mouth, I lost about 15 in a month and a half.  I was eating 1200/day and doing a 30 minute run occasionally (3-0 times per week).

I’d like to add that you’re very lucky!  Your 140lb picture looks to me only 125 or so, you must have good muscle tone!  Make sure you dont lose weight too quickly or you’ll lose your muscle.  Good luck!

ETA: Don’t focus too much on numbers.  I weigh 102 now and I wear bigger clothes than I did in high school when I weighed 108 and played soccer.
