How ready are you?

35 weeks 4 days and I feel pretty ready. At least, emotionally I feel totally ready; practically, I still have a few things to do. We have the bassinette set up in our bedroom, clothing washed, diapers assembled. I still need to install the carseat and get post-partum supplies for myself. I’m not planning on putting much in my hospital bag since we live really close, I can just send my husband or bff to pick up something if I need it later. (I figured just toiletries, a couples changes of clothes for me and baby.) My husband and I did childbirth and baby basics classes, so I feel prepared in that regard.

I’m working the next two weeks, which I hope will help pass the time. I’m ready to get this show on the road! I feel like the last month is definitely going to be the longest.

Pappy8:  I’m 36 weeks and I have everything ready except the car seats are still sitting in my living room. :/  The plan was to get those installed this weekend, but we’ll see. My nesting instinct was crazy, though, so I got a lot of things done very early. All of my baby’s onesies are sorted by size, diapers are sorted and arranged by size, etc. Hospital bag is still a work in progress (I’m adding things to it here and there). I’m not due until 1/23 but I won’t be mad if she comes a bit early– we’re more than ready for her!

Pappy8:  I’m 28 weeks today and we have:

  • Name picked out
  • Stroller
  • Carseat
  • Ordering crib next week
  • Moby wrap
  • Nursing cover
  • Baby clothes
  • Baby gym/playmat
  • Breast pump (still need to order accessories)
  • Completed hospital tour
  • Signing up for birthing classes next week

That’s about it. My big goal for next week is to find a pediatrician! Other than that, my baby shower is scheduled for early February (God willing, I will be about 34 weeks then), so we would like to wait to see what we get and then go from there!

Pappy8:  32w 3d and had/having a freakout about having pain ALL morning not knowing wtf contractions are supposed to feel like …and it didnt seem to be going away with moving around. Anywho I think it’s just a bad bout of back pain from being strained in the last few days with christmas etc….

however… in terms of being ready…. we have the nursery set up with all the furniture now, a little decorated, all cloths we could ever need (a lot of hand me downs) and new stuff from my mom who’se gone crazy shopping. We have car seat but its not in the car yet, the portable pack’N’play Dear Daughter will sleep in our room with for the first while. (we still have to steam it….got it second hand I kinda want to clean it) but no biggie if we didnt have time, however I do need to figure out what we’ll use on top of the actual part of the P’n’P because its quite hard. Swaddling blankets and every other kind of receiving blankets, sleep sack. We have a few bottles that I got for free when I bought maternity cloths lol… baby bath stuff/baby hooded towels. Newborn/baby swing we got from Darling Husband boss (and a bunch of other stuff like floor play mats, vibrating chair etc….) although Im not sure if the vibrating part still works….I put a new battery in and it wasnt doing anything.

Planning on getting my hospital bag organized this week and hopefully some freezer meals (especially after this morning episode)

Still need to get stroller (IL’s are buying it for us but were still deciding…realistically its gonna be winter so we probably wont use it much asap so its not a “need it NOW” item). I want and ergo carrier which I’d probably need fairly asap if we dont have the stroller so thats impt…. pick up some diapers, wipes, changing table pad, bum cream/nipple cream, pacifiers, and breast pump, baby monitor, are the main things I wanna get done right now….oh crap a diaper bag.

I mean some of that I guess I could live without in the immediate timeframe if something happened, but the rest is just small stuff like nasal aspirator, nail clippers, gripe water/baby tummy stuff, some formula “just in case”, thermometer etc…..

I am 37w3d, with a repeat c-section scheduled for Jan 8 so less than two weeks! We have most everything done, but still a few things left to do. We are getting our carpets cleaned tomorrow, the nursery is pretty much done but we do need to hang a few things (wall art, floating book shelves) and put away the diapers and clothes and stuff that are just sitting out right now. Next weekend I am going to make some freezer meals to have for after baby is here, and we have a few things left to get off of our registry (swing, extra crib sheet, etc). We also need to wash all of the baby’s clothes, sheets/blankets, bottles, etc. Oh, and we need to pack a hospital bag and install the car seat. Sounds like kind of a lot but luckily I am out of school for the next week for Christmas break so I can get everything done!

I’m 32w4d and have done…… um…… nothing! Well the nursery is painted, but that’s it. Our baby shower is next weekend and after that it will be time to hit it hard buying whatever else we need! Emotionally and physically, I’m so ready for our little man to arrive!!

this makes me feel soooo much better. I’m only 18w and I feel like I’m way behind with only the nursery painted!

Eh, I feel like as long as you have an OB, hospital picked out, a place for the baby to sleep, car seat, and basic amounts of clothes and diapers, you’ll be fine. At least, that’s what I’m telling myself.

We have the nursery almost done, and that is it. My shower is this coming weekend, so I will know what else I need after that. I also want to do some freexer meals, get the carpets cleaned and all that jazz. I feel like time is going to fly! We also have our hospital tour in about 2 weeks. Slowly getting things done! Oh, I will be 34 weeks tomorrow.

I’m only 22 weeks, and so far we have some diapers and baby shoes. We are very ready 😉 I just got a bit of money, so we will be buying a bunch soon, and my baby shower is in February,  so that’s stopping me from getting too much right now. As far as being mentally prepared,  I think I am, I don’t think dh can get any more prepared until the baby arrives.

I’m 34 weeks and just got the first coat of paint on the nursery tonight. We have the furniture.. in boxes in the garage.. We have a name.. this is #2 so I have most the “stuff” just haven’t done anything though. My nesting and hormones went crazy today so I have a feeling I’ll make Darling Husband and I get most of it done this week while he’s off work.

I have some toys, a lot of clothing (but there are a few gaps in the wardrobe, like maybe more little pyjamas, scratch mits and hats…and I can’t figure out if I need a snowsuit). We have crib, mattress and changing table built in the room. I have 20 cloth diapers and two packs of newborn disposable. I have sleep sacks, stroller and car seat combo. I think we need some things for me before bb comes…and a name choice sure would be nice! I’m 27 weeks. We also don’t have a diaper bag, but I feel like I might just wait and improvise…I won’t be having a shower unfortunately.
