Okay had to share the first story of rude guest. It’s kind of funny, but also not. So this couple (or the wife anyway) called my FI’s mom and told her that they would definitely be at the wedding, but they were not going to send back the RSVP. WHAT?! I mean, seriously you fill out your name, check yes or no, and put it in the ALREADY ADDRESSED, ALREADY STAMPED envelope and drop it in the mail. It could’ve been done in less time that it took to make the phone call. I am just at a loss to this kind of logic. lol And basically she is saying that she doesn’t care if I wasted a stamp on them. I am more fine with calling the people after not getting them and having them say they were busy and forgot or something than to just blatantly say they have no intention of filling it out. But hey, thanks for the phone call anyway. haha Every day I marvel at how people can be so weird.

That is really weird! Maybe she thinks your invitations are so nice she wants to save them. 😉

That is just bizarre. Some people just don’t get it.
Maybe they are the type to never fill out RSVPs and she thought a phone call would save you (or your FI’s mom/whomever) from having to call them?
In any case, nothing surprises me anymore with lack of etiquette shown by some people- especially with anything to do with weddings.

We got some people that did this! My mom just told them on the phone that she appreciated the call but that they would still have to send it in because we are using the cards to count the final number and if we didn’t have their card they wouldn’t have a seat lol They sent it in!
I don’t understand why it is hard for people either. We had so many people that didn’t RSVP – it was one of the most frustrating things because like you said it takes little time to do and pretty self explanatory.

Atleast she called to RSVP.. which is the technically the same thing. I’d like if people called to RSVP to be honest I think its more personal and nice that they would take the time to do so. thats just me though
edited to add, once they call in I would just add their names to the list of definitely attending guests

Was it a cool RSVP card? I had a good friend of mine send out RSVP postcards with this gorgeous picture of them on the front… I didnt want to mail mine back! I wanted it on my fridge.

@MissBuffalo: lol Well it just like the invitation, so I can’t imagine anyone wanting to hold on to it but who knows.
@bells: Yes this is the reason why I find it at least semi humorous because they did take the time to say yes we are coming. I checked them off as 2 yesses but I just thought how weird is it to say we will NOT send the card back. She didn’t even have to say that at all. She could’ve said hey we are coming and not mentioned the card at all. I still would’ve checked them in the yes column.
@Allyser: Ha good for your mom. I am just going to include them in the head count and forget the RSVP. Our deadline is this weekend and out of 42 we have only gotten 11 back! Yeah, I think many more phone calls are in our future. Sigh.
@PinkPinstripes: No kidding! People are just crazy or lazy. Either one. haha
@chloeb0825: I sure do think they’re nice. lol
