I’ve been going around showing pictures of my dress to just about everyone I know. It’s just so pretty I want everyone to see it! Except for my fiance. So how many people have you shown your dress to? I couldn’t figure out how to write a good option for those who have shown it to their groom, so comment if that’s the case.

Very few – In person – my mom and stepdad have seen it when we went shopping, my Maid/Matron of Honor has seen it at alterations, my grandma and aunt have seen it (stored it at my grandma’s house). I think I also sent my dad a picture and I sent a couple of close friends pictures of a few different dresses when I was trying to decide.
I am keeping a lot of details relatively quiet. I’d rather people show up and be pleasantly surprised rather than have ideas of how I/the venue/the food/whatever are going to look.

I haven’t shown it to many people (that’s why I love showing it off on the Bee!!!). My mom and BMs have seen it, that’s all I’ve shown… Now my mother, on the other hand, is a different story. I think she’s shown all her co-workers and anyone else who has mentioned the word “wedding” to her!!! And she likes to throw in that she found the dress!

Other! Only my mom and sister!

I only show it to close family/friends but my mom was showing everyone! I had to stop her.

I don’t really consider my dress a secret, I never really considering making it a secret. Even my Fiance knows quite a bit about it, he’s seen it on another woman on Say Yes to the Dress. I showed him the episode when I told him I was considering buying it from another bride, and got a casual opinion from him (because I was about to drop a nice chunk of my money on it). The only place I draw the line is that he can’t see ME in the dress until the big day. But in general when vendors ask about the dress he can describe the major details…stapless, lace, ivory, and that’s about it.
Even if others (including my FI) saw me in my dress right now without the veil, accessories, styled hair, and, makeup…I feel like on the big day it will still make a much bigger impact that won’t measure up to its first viewing in my small poorly lite bedroom.

lots of people have seen it – as for people coming to the wedding, only my mom/fmil/sisters/grandmothers/bridesmaids have seen it. Oh yup and fiance! (only pics though). My dad is ADAMANT about not seeing it, so he will be the only one completley surprised!

My dress is a total secret! I want my guests and especially my fiancé to be completely surprised. other than my mother, Future Mother-In-Law, and bridesmaids who all went dress shopping with me, no one knows anything. I swore all of them to secrecy, wouldn’t let anyone take pictures of the dress or me in it, and won’t give any hints about its shape, color, designer or anything. People have asked about my dress, but I just tell them they’ll have to wait and see 🙂

@katehh08: Show us your dress lol! My Fiance and friends and family have seen my dress, but really I just show people that ask. My Future Mother-In-Law really wanted me to have a white/ivory dress (my Future Sister-In-Law wore black and Future Mother-In-Law is super traditional), so as soon as I got it, she was asking for pics.

- Wedding: May 2013 - Walt Disney World
I’ve only shown my dress to close friends and family (and the BMs). FI has only seen part of the train (in a cropped photo).

I’m having a super tiny wedding (35 people). So, I’ve shown it without abandon to all the folks I work with that are not invited, plus sent it to my 4 close girl friends who are coming to the wedding. My mom & Future Mother-In-Law came to my dress fitting. Because it was way over our budget, I showed it to Fiance on the website before buying, but I actually think it’s really ugly on the website, so I’m not worried about that.

I only showed my parents, bridesmaids, and a couple people who were very new friends and not invited to the wedding (why keep it a surprise from them if they weren’t going to be there anyway). Anybody invited to the wedding outside of my bridal party saw it for the first time when I walked down the aisle.

My ceremony dress hasn’t arrived yet, but I’ve shown stock photos of it to my mum (who then showed it to my grandma, aunt and stepdad), my bridesmaids/best friends, a few female colleagues and friends who have expressed curiosity about it. My Fiance has seen it too, he was actually quite involved in the selection process.
As for my reception dress, I kind of bought it on a whim last week and it arrived this week. My Fiance actually saw me in it – it was delivered early in the morning and I couldn’t wait for Fiance to be out of the house before trying it on! Plus he had to zip me up and help me snap a couple of photos, haha. I momentarily felt a bit panicked that he saw me in the dress, but then I snapped out of it. I kind of feel like it will be entirely different when he sees me on our wedding day. Having said that, I will not be showing him me in my actual ceremony dress until the big day!

I’ve shown it to my mom, sister, and dad. . . Future Mother-In-Law, Future Sister-In-Law, Future Brother-In-Law. . . and BM’s. That’s it. I’m trying to keep it as secret as possible! Plus I think even after showing these people, they won’t exactly remember what it looks like on the big day, lol.

I showed it to whoever wanted to see it.
