(Closed) How should I address a Petty Officer?

Since he’s not an officer, you would address him normally. So Mr. and Mrs. XXXX

ETA: A petty officer isn’t an officer, they are enlisted personnel.

You can address it Mr. and Mrs.  Technically, he is ET2 John Smith, or Electronics Technician, Second Class John Smith if you have the room.  Either one is fine! 

I believe the envelope would read: ET2 John Smith and Mrs. Mary Smith, but if you write his whole rating out, you may have to put his wife’s name on a second line.

You can read more about the “technical” etiquette here, but quite honestly, anyone that I know, including Darling Husband and myself, would be totally cool with just Mr. and Mrs. 🙂
