So, I’ve been contemplating this for a while now… but I’m not sure what to do! I love my straight across neckline, but I can’t help but wonder if a full sweetheart would look better! (I don’t really like the scoopy look of semi-sweethearts). I am pretty flat chested (32 A) so I wonder if a sweetheart will help make me look fuller or if I will look like I’m trying too hard.
I’m generally a really modest girl and don’t wear low cut things, but I think it might be fun to try the sweetheart on my dress. I’m just afraid that if I modify the neckline, what if I hate it and then I’m stuck?!
Even if I do end up keeping my straight across neckline, I will lower it a tad bit. I feel like it fits a bit too awkwardly high.
So, here’s my terrible mirosoft paint ‘photoshopping’ skills. Tell me what you think!
Thanks, yall! 🙂

I love sweetheart, I think they’re very flattering for most chest sizes. I wouldn’t lower the middle part too much, though. But the picture you used is perfect, it will elongate your silhouette by showing more neckline, and it will give your chest a nice definition (right now it’s fully covered, I feel it hides you).
The seamstress will probably pin the neckline for you to try it and see it on yourself before she makes any permanent modification. Maybe bring a ”before” picture (like this one) to your appointment and compare what you prefer when you look at yourself. But I think the soft sweetheart is the perfect middle ground for the dress’ style and the result you’d like.

Ugh, I’m torn. I love the original picture, but I can see how it’s slightly too high. I’m sorry, but everyone and their mother is wearing sweatheart necklines these days… I’d love for you to keep it as is, or lower it slightly, because I think it’s gorgeous the way it fits you

I personally prefer the neckline as-is. I think it is more elegant and sophisticated that way. It does sit high, but id have a seamstress adjust it to fit correctly.

I am a 32A also and went dress shopping for the first time on saturday . What I found was the sweetheart neckline gave me a little extra on top to flow with the bottom of my dress (more A line/ballgown).
I didn’t feel like I was trying to hard , there’s only so much you can do with 32A lol. I think your dress is gorgeous on you as it is but I feel the sweetheart neckline will give you a little extra to match the bottom.

I love the sweetheart look on you! I would definitely go that way. I know it’s done on practically every dress, but things are typically popular because they are the most flattering. If not sweetheart then at least lower it a bit to elongate yourself. But the dress looks great on you! Good pick!

LeonardLady: I’d change it to a sweetheart or even a dipped neckline.

I’m also a 32A and went with the sweetheart neckline. I felt like it gave me at least the illusion of some sort of shaping up top, I think the straight necklines aren’t the most flattering to us itty-bitty ladies as they tend to flatten us out more

I have an ample chest and a very broad ribcage and shoulders. I found the sweetheart made it look more proportionate because it brought the eye inward to my cleavage area rather than accentuating how wide I am.

I think a true sweetheart will be so much more flattering (and probably comfortable too).

Like this?.. i think the neckline suits the simplicity of your dress and sweetheart wouldnt suit.. but it definately needs to be lowered.. lovely though!
