Our wedding venue is all outdoors in gaviota Ca. The ceremony and reception are at the same location, except the ceremony will be in a meadow about 1/4 of a mile up a dirt and gravel road. The guests will have to walk. I want to add an insert in our invitation explaining this. I want to say to please wear walking shoes (Flats, boots, or wedges). The meadow has uneven ground. It will be a short nature walk. Whoever can’t walk needs to tell us so we can provide an SUV for those a unable to walk.

Maybe say something like “please bring comfortable shoes for a short nature walk to our ceremony location.” As far as people who can’t walk… could you maybe just go through your guest list and try to pinpoint any older or otherwise unable people, and ask them personally if they’d rather have a ride?

“The ceremony is located down a dirt and gravel road on uneven ground. Please choose shoes that will allow you to walk comfortablely. If it will be difficult for you to walk the 1/4 mile, please let me know so i can arrange transportation.”

@KoiKove: thanks! Some people might think I’m crazy to have our guests walk, but I think it’s worth the beauty of the land.
