How should illusion/button up back fit?

irishtiger:  your dress is gorgeous, I’m jealous! It’s a shame that it doesn’t fit comfortably though. Have you had it altered at all yet? You should get it altered for comfort and a good seamstress will be able to make it work and lie flat on your back, but with enough room under the arms. I don’t know anything about how the dress is held up but I imagine that if it has a structured bodice you’d think that that would be what holds the dress up. Have you taken it to a seamstress for advice?

irishtiger:  Hmmm I can see that feeling restrictive or heavy it looks like there isn’t much structure holding the dress up from the waist, just hangs off the one piece of lace! I would talk to a seamstress and see if she can add boning into the midsection of the dress to take some pressure off your neck and back holding the dress up all day!
