When I had my BFP, I felt crampy, and definitely felt my uterus fluttering, but never had AF to show for it. I had headaches a bit too, but there was one day of diarreah (sorry, TMI) that I felt my insides were being ripped from my body.

Besides being really tired and napping out of context with normal life, the kicker was my super-human ability to smell things I shouldn’t have been able to otherwise. Like a man walking into a lecture hall, sitting 5 rows behind me, and me being able to tell he was a smoker. Or, being downstairs when my Darling Husband goes upstairs to use the bathroom, and detecting the stink wafting through the vents.

I was thirsty more than usual, and felt myself needing to pee all the time too. Hopefully this helps you.

@Rose120:  When I got my BFP I definitely had more breast tenderness than usual.  I almost always have tenderness in my LP (psychogenic maybe?) but it was wayy more.  I felt diffusely crampy, as opposed to when AF came it is usually very sharp. Every lady is different. I will hope for the best for you!

Very similar.  Although for me, my cramps don’t start until I actually get AF…for my BFP the cramps were nearly as intense, but before AF (obviously).

Good luck!

I usually started getting cramps about a day or two before AF was going to start, but when I got my BFP I started getting them a week before I was supposed to get my periods. The cramps were actually more intense and I was starving. I was the heartburn though that made me run and go get a test. Good luck!

Oh yes. I forgot about the starving and the boobs. You will feel like you NEED TO EAT ***NOW!!!*** and the boobs will hurt more.

@Rose120:  My Darling Husband has a habit of patting my boobs because he likes to watch them shake. He did that one night, and I wanted to punch him in the nose, it hurt so bad. I asked him if I could do that to his balls. He stopped immediately.

Your chart looks great! Looks like you will be able to test in a couple of days. FX that your temps stay high.

@Rose120:  I would bet that you O’ed on CD24, not CD16.  (Sorry! – probably *not* what you wanted to hear…)

As for my BFP symptoms, they *were* different than my normal AF symptoms…

  • Breasts – I always got tender breasts at about 7/8 DPO, but it would gradually build and was on the sides.  My BFP month the pain was intense from the beginning – so bad that I had to sleep in a sports bra – and was right under the nipples.
  • Cramps – I normally only get cramps on CD1, but had (light) cramps leading up to when AF should have arrived.
  • I did not get any of the emotional/irritable/irrational feelings PMS that I normally do.
  • Starting at about 11 DPO I was STARVING and could not put off eating when the hunger came over me.
  • I also started falling asleep on the couch before 9:30 every night. That and the boobs were my “tells.”

Just chiming in that my BFP symptoms were nothing like AF symptoms.  There was a noticeable lack thereof actually, and my syptoms were feeling like I was coming down with a cold and exhaustion.
