How snug is your ring?

Were you sized at a jeweler? I wear a 7 and I don’t have a gap, and you shouldn’t either. If you shake your hand a decent amount would your ring fall off? Your ring should be snug.

dylanswifey :  These photos were kind of hard to take! 😀 Here you go. I’m a size 7. It fits perfectly now but when it was colder, it was a little loose and if I shook it vigorously, it would fall off.

First two pictures are with ring pushed up and last two are normal state.

ETA- I just tried shaking it vigorously now and it still fell off but in the normal course of business, it’s fine. My actual size is 6.75 but I got 7 so it wouldn’t feel tight when I stack rings.

Your ring should be tight enough that it won’t fall off.  When you take it off you should need to either wiggle it off or slowly pull. I’d reccomend getting it resized or putting in sizing beads at least, especially if your hands shrink/swell a lot.

It’ll vary with finger shape too. I have a big gap and it’s very loose when on, but that’s because I have big knuckles  No chance the ring will fall off with those in the way!

dylanswifey :  Thank you and you’re welcome! It feels more snug than I’m comfortable with soon after I get out of the shower but after a while, it feels fine.

dylanswifey :  This is the gap I have – and the ring is fitting a bit more loosely because it’s so cold.

You should have to wiggle it a tiny bit to get it off; if it slips off – for instance if you were to put your hands in your pockets and then take them out again, does it come off? – it’s too loose.

I once lost my little platinum eternity band in this way. Didn’t even know it had come off, as I had it stacked. Found it weeks later in my purse! It had just slipped off my finger when I was getting something out of my purse.

Might want to get it sized, or get the inside built up a bit.

If it’s cold where you are, though, I’d put a tighter ring on to hold it on securely, and wait until it’s warm to decide to size.

At the moment they’re just the right size (I didn’t push the rings ) because my fingers are warm for a change. 😀 However, usually they rotate so damn much but for me that’s a not a big problem. I have big knuckles so the ring size wouldn’t go down.

OP, thanks for posting this. I have the same thought almost every day. Mine won’t come off on its own, but it’s looser than I’d like, the diamond doesn’t stay in the middle, and the ring “rides up” closer to my knuckle. I’m waiting until we go to pick out our wedding bands to see if the jeweler thinks we should resize it down a bit. I don’t know if there’s enough extra room at the knuckle though, but I hope there’s something that can be done.

My ring size is about a 5.5 and I got a 6 so it’s quite loose but I bought these plastic sizers off amazon and they make sure that my ring does not slip off no matter what! I can’t even remove my ring unless I remove the sizer. I’ll attach the link to the ones I bought

I think sometimes that mine could stand to be sized up a half size … but then I think it’s not worth it for such a small change. If I wear either without the other the size is perfect.  Both together is an itty bit snug….

I was sized by a jeweler. There are days it feels snug bc I retain water or something.

Generally though its comfortably snug. No visible gap and does not fall off when I shake a dry hand. If I put on lotion or have wet hands it might slip off while shaking hand so I am careful in those situations (removed and replace when dry)
