It’s time to order my wedding band and I’m not sure how snug I should get it. Currently my e-ring comes off easily, so my finance wants me to get the band in a smaller size. I’m worried it will feel too tight, or I won’t have room to ‘grow into it.’ (It’s off etsy so it might be a pain to send it back for re-sizing.)
Also, I think I kind of like the loose way the e-ring fits… I’m curious to see who else prefers a loose fit to their rings, or a snug fit!

Most of my rings are a size 6, but my engagement ring is a 5.5 Since it’s not a ring I will be taking off and on and don’t want it to slide off to easily I went a little smaller.
For re-sizing, you don’t need to bring it back to where you bought it. I’m sure any jewlery store could take care of it.

you should have a bit of resistance around the knuckle when you put your ring on. if it’s bigger than that, you risk it falling off.
what is the ring made of? resizing shouldn’t be a problem for a jewelry store.

My e-ring fits me a little loosely now, especially when I’m cold. But I’m sure come summertime it will fit me snug since my fingers tend to swell up. My ring is a size 4, I dont see myself going any smaller that that for my band.

If my hands are super swollen, I have to twist to get it off, but otherwise it slides off no problem, but it never moves or anything, so it’s not loose.
I guess my hands don’t swell/shrink as much as some people.

@roxy821: For resizing, I think I’m worried cause it’s one of those rings with a fingerprint on the inside. I’m not sure if any jeweler could re-size while keeping the integrity of the print. Here’s a photo so you can see what I mean:

My ring fits medium to loose. Its definitely not at risk of falling off but I hate the muffin top your fingers get when rings are snug and i take mine off often so I didn’t want it to be a hassle.

@kitzy: I plan to get it in platinum (to match e-ring) but I’m concerned about the fingerprint style being hard to re-size. There’s a photo in my post above.

Mine are pretty snug as I don’t want them to spin. They never actually feel tight when I’m wearing them but sometimes when my fingers swell, I have to run them under cold water to get them off.

That ring is so cute! Mine is snug most times, and when it’s colder it gets looser. I’m afraid that it will be extremely tight in the summer. But I don’t want it to slide around so I’m gonna stay with the same size unless something drastic happens this summer.

@auki:go to a jeweler and use their sizing rings. you might just want to go a quarter or half size down if your ering is a little loose.

@kitzy: I’ve tried this and a quarter size down goes on easily, but requires some work to get off… this may be the right size for me but I’m paranoid it will be tight. It sounds silly but maybe I’ll do an 1/8 size. 🙂

My ring gets really loose during the winter time, and gets tighter in warmer weather. Instead of resizing it, I just get one of those plastic ring-guards from Wal-Mart to wear during the winter time.

Mine is a 6 and it comes off pretty easy most of the time (no snag at the knuckle) but sometimes depending on weather and what I’ve eaten it’s a bit tighter (still comes off easily but have to pull it over the knuckle).
I can fit a 5.5 but it wouldn’t be comfortable taking it off for things like cleaning and dishes so I’m sticking with my 6. And I’m sure I won’t always be this weight, lol. Not that I’m planning to get fat, but age happens, you know?

I actually just dropped off my e-ring to be resized. I’ve had it since November but I’ve gone back and forth on whether or not I thought it fit tight enough. I spoke to the employees at the jewelry store and once they saw how easily it came off, they recommended that I have it resized. I never felt like it was going to fall off, but I’m glad I decided to have it resized.
