This is pretty normal. They should have told you when to expect it in when you ordered it, but most likely it will come in in February/March for your wedding.  Don’t worry about them not comtacting you, either- I mean, what would they be telling you, that the dress is still schedulued to come in?  I didn’t hear from my salon, unless I emailed my consultant with a question.  Don’t feel silly if you want to call!  They deal with brides constantly- I’m sure they’re used to questions 🙂

Btw, my wedding is May, too, and the dress was scheduled to come in in the time frame I mentioned.  I freaked a little (that it was too close to the wedding) and it came in last month.  In retrospect, there’s no problem with it coming in in Feb., and I wouldn’t have to keep it at my parents’ house for a few months.

I ordered mine in July and they told me it would come in November… I called them up the first week of November to ask for an update and they said shipment was delayed and it wouldn’t be in until January. It never hurts to just check in and see what’s up!

@whitandrior:

It has been quite a while but not completely out of the ordinary. Some dresses take 8 months. I think you should just call the salon to get an expected delivery date. If they haven’t heard from the designer yet, they can call for you to check in.

Also, regardless of how long it actually takes for the gown to be made, they might be catering to your wedding date and have it come in shortly before your fittings should start, as a courtesy.
