It’s easy to pick out my wedding band since mine was a set. However, we still need to look for FI’s.
How far in advance did you buy your wedding bands? Did you get tempted to wear them before the ceremony!? LOL I can so see myself doing that.

I’m curious about everyone’s responses to this too. I’m not getting married until next June but I’m super excited about my FI’s band. I get to choose it, and he won’t see it until the wedding day. I’m going to have mine custom made..so it might take a little longer..
Starting now is a bit early..but I’m kind of chomping at the bit.

I am getting married three weeks from tomorrow and we just ordered this week. Luckily rings will be in by Tuesday. I do not suggest waiting this long! We both wanted simple bands so it wasn’t an issue but it still stressed me out.

I started looking as soon as i got my ring… he let me pick my ring- and there was a matching band but i didnt want matchy matchy.. we had over 1 year to go for the wedding. I had his input on the band and i bought his prolly a month after we got mine.
we just bought my band 2 weeks ago after a year of searching hi and low. I would look now, get his input then i would make sure you buy it NO later then 2 months before so theres time for any mistakes or engraving issues.
( an yes both him and i have tried on our bands 🙂 me more then him)

we bought his band 2-3 months before the wedding. he ending up loving the one that was a perfect fit so we got to take it home the same day. when we went to another jeweler, they told us it would take a few weeks to make.

I’m getting married in September and we went together to pick out our bands in late January. We were staying with friends who had moved to Ohio (we live in Florida!) and they had a close relationship with an amazing jeweler, so we got an incredible deal. They’ve been done for a while, but our friends have them as of now. They’re flying down on Wednesday so we can all drive down to Key West for FI’s sister’s commitment ceremony, so we’ll get them then! I’m so excited to officially have it.
I’m glad that’s it’s one less thing we have to worry about.

Three to four months before the ceremony would be a good timeline. The more intricate the ring, the longer I would allow for ordering. If you are having a custom made band to match your engagement ring, you may want to get some advice from your jeweler. Especially if it is a family-owned store.

We bought ours about a year before the wedding because we had a somewhat limited budget and the rings were THE most important thing to me (we’ll have to wear them every day for the rest of our lives!). We bought them second, after booking the venue, so that we could get what we wanted and adjust the rest of our budget accordingly.

I didn’t want a 2000 expense before the wedding so I bought mine a month after the engagement. Which was 17 months before the wedding.

We got ours in February and we get married in November – I did have it on the day I got it but its in a safe place now out of my hands!

Also, they ended up having to make FI’s. It only took about 3 weeks. Then he had to get it resized because he didn’t know his ring size, having never worn a ring before, and the woman at the store apparently didn’t measure his finger right. He wore it around our house for about a week and then decided it was too small. I’d say make sure you leave some time for wearing around the house and resizing if he’s not used to wearing a ring.

I would say it doesn’t really matter as long as you make sure there is plenty of time before the wedding for the order to be fulfilled. I will be buying my band when I go back home to MN in the next month. I’m just going to leave at my parents house. We haven’t looked for my FIs band, but may do so this weekend. Our wedding is not until September.

I bought mine the day we bought my e-ring, but that’s because they’re both custom made and match each other.

I just picked mine up this past weekend and we’ve had FI’s for a few months now. I think if you see something you like, go for it!! At least you’ll know you have it. 🙂

It depends where you are gonna make the purchase..
If you are going to buy them from a local store 2 weeks would be enough incase you need to have any exchange or resizing!
If you prefer getting them online, as much people do nowadays, give at least a month!
A week for manufacturing, another 2-3 days for shipping and in case you need any modification on the rings, double the time .
