Okay so I’m back under my alias because I need some non judgemental answers. My situation, well it’s comlicated right now but that’s beside the point. My period was due Sunday and has yet to come. I’ve been off my BC for 2 months now so it could just be my body adjusting to not being on anything. I’ve been on BC for almost 10 years. The first month off, I had a regular period, same time as I usually did on BC. It lasted longer but it was on time. Well this month I spotted around week 3, which was two Saturday’s ago. I kept spotting for 3 days and it stopped. So that was one week before AF was suppose to come. I didn’t really think anything of it since I’ve spotted before however all those times AF showed up a day or two late. Never 6 days late! I took a test on Wednesday and it was negative but I don’t know if it’s right. Maybe I tested too early or whatever. I would just like to get some feed back from you ladies. How soon after your missed period did you get a BFP? Did you get a BFN first and if so how soon after that did you either get your period or get a positive? I’m in the current mind set that all things happen for a reason so if I am pregnant I will be so happy but if I’m not I will be happy too!
Also let me mention that I’ve lost about 10lbs in the last month and it’s not like I’m trying it’s because I just haven’t been able to eat. For like a week, I couldn’t put anything in my mouth without wanting to puke. Too Much Information sorry. Well yesterday I got sick after lunch. Throwing up and all. My first thought was food poisoning but no one else got sick. Also I have not been able to get out of bed on time. I’ve been getting up like 15-30 minutes late for the past month. I’ve had a horrible month and my stress level is out the roof so I’m thinking that’s what all of this is being caused by but I want to know what you guys think. I called the dr. and they told me to wait until Monday and if AF doesn’t show to come in and get checked. So we shall see…

@DivinelyDiscreet: I tested 3 days after AF was due and got a BFP! I would go ahead and test again and see what happens. If it comes back negative, I would make an appt with your GYN & see what’s going on. You could be pregnant or it could be that you’ve recently come off of BC. TEST!!

If you think you are late, you will likely get a BFP if you test now. Also, there is also the possibility that you ovulated early because of being fresh off BCP, and the spotting was implantation bleeding.
OR it could be that you are sick, and the stress of that is throwing your body for a loop, in addition to it adjusting to being off BCP. Only one way to tell!

I got my BFP the day my period was due. I had a 12 day LP and I didn’t have cramps nor had my temp had not dropped to 97.9, so I took it. I took a digital the next day, BFP too.

When I got pregnant I didn’t even think I was ovulating. I took ovulation tests until day 22, never got a peak, then just gave up. Then we DTD on day 24. Day 27 started having cramps (which I now attribute to ovulation). I tested at least five times starting between days 30 and 38 (didn’t think I even ovulated that month, but what the heck, right)? Had spotting on day 35, thought it was my period, but it stopped right away.
Stopped testing and threw in the towel and decided to start OPKs again on day 45 thinking it was a “new cycle” for me. Got a positive OPK. Thought twice about it and took a pregnancy test and it was a BFP. I ended up miscarrying, but that’s besides the point. You just never know!! You could have ovulated early/late…so hard to know in the first months going off the pill.
Good luck!

I had 4 negative tests; and decided to test once more when I was 4 days late and the nausea started. I got my BFP at 4 days late – even if I had used the brands that claim to be effective for up to 4 days prior your expected periods. Sometimes there is just not enough hormones in urine…
But with your level of stress and all, that may be delaying your periods..

Hm… don’t think there’s an uncomplicated way to put this besides to say it was a really weird month for me, but since I charted, I knew exactly if it would be worth testing and when. Suffice to say it was 3 wks and 4 days since my last period when I got the BFP. Faint, but there. DH was skeptical, so took a Clear Blue Easy Digital the next day (3 wks 5 days)– another BFP. Have you been charting, or thinking about charting? It can be a really awesome way to take the guesswork out of things.

I tested using the strips the day my period was due and it I had a very faint line. No false positives!!

@DivinelyDiscreet: Are you SURE when you ovulated and when AF is due? (Are you using OPKs and/or charting?) I ask because very few women have “regular” 28-day cycles. It is pretty common to have a “normal” cycle your first month off of BCP, then your body adjusts to your natural cycle (which can be shorter than 28 days or significantly longer). My first real visit from AF after going off BCP was 3 days of light spotting – I knew it was AF because I chart – so you *may* have had your period and didn’t recognize it as such. In that case, you would be in a new cycle now.
