It really depends on when your numbers are due. I would give them a few days to a week and then start calling.

I think I gave them a week and a half. I had a few people RVSVP late, but the majority just said “Oh! I forgot! Yes we’re coming!” when I contacted them.

@Quicksand:  We’re not there yet, but I plan to start calling people that day. We’re sending our invitations out a bit early, so they will have about 6-7 weeks from getting the invitation to the RSVP deadline.

I think we gave people a week. We did have quite a few trickle in after the deadline so I assume people waited until that date to mail it.

I waited for 4-5 days after the deadline, in case our guests are flaky but well-intentioned like my husband and me and sent it in around the deadline.

We gave everybody a week. Mail can be slow, people forget.

i would not  contact anyone until the day after the RSVP deadline. I had a bride ( that I wasn’t very close to) call me 4 days before the RSVP deadline asking me what my answer was in an irritated kind of tone.  In my mind, I still had time and I thougth why is this crazy lady calling me like I did something wrong?    At that point, if you are going to make personal call, why even send an RSVP card…..
