I am getting married in June of 2013. I want to lose about 12-15 lbs before the wedding as well as majorly tone up. I am the definition of “skinny fat” right now. How far before the wedding do I need to start my diet? I already exercise, even though I’m going to have to add weight training into the mix…I am just dreading giving up my wine and chocolate. Kill me now. I kinda think I need to go ahead and start because I want to look good for all the parties/showers. So, how long did it take you to lose 12-15 lbs and what did you have to “give up?”

I’ve lost 18.2 lbs and I started Weight Watchers online at the end of December.
To be fair, though… the last two months, about one day out of the week, I totally blow my point plan out of the water. Usually it’s because of a family party. a dinner out, something like that. I make better choices than I used to make, but I still eat more calories than I probably should So depending on your strategy, you could just save the wine/chocolate for one day out of the week and try to make really good choices other days. 🙂
That’s more or less what I’ve been doing, and I’m still losing, just more slowly.. maybe 0.5-1lb/week. Which seems like a reasonable rate to me.

It’s not healthy to lose more than 1-2 pounds a week, so you might want to use that as your guideline, and give yourself buffer time.
