Just wondering when your dress arrived at the bridal store and when you had your first/last fittings?
I had given my date as 5th of June 2013 and the bridal store still has not received my dress.
I ordered my dress on Feb 1st 2013 and was told to expect my dress at the beginning of May.
They have told me they should be receiving it any day now.
I don’t fly out for my Destination Wedding until July 5th 2013 so i still have 5-6 weeks. I don’t mind last minute alterations as i’m still hoping to shed a few kilos.
I’m just concerned that had my date actually been 5th June 2013, i would be 9 days out with no dress.
If the 5th of June rolls around (the date i had given) and my dress still hasn’t arrived, i’m going to cancel and ask for a refund and buy a sample.

Your dress should be fine. I think that is why they want you to give lead time of 6 months before you need your dress to arrive for your wedding. I ordered mine early in January and had it only 2 or 3 months later.

Hmmm, i know i didn’t start looking for dresses until January 2013. I’m not too sure why i didn’t start sooner:-)

@sharontobemarried: My dress came in 3 months. I was given a lead time of 4-9 months when i placed my order.

Ordered my dress the end of September. It arrived the last week of April (2 months earlier than they predicted) and my wedding is August 12.

I ordered around Thanksgiving and they told me it would be in at the end of April. It came in the middle of April. I dont start alterations for another month.

I’m still waiting for mine. I ordered mine in November 2012. My alterations appointment was supposed to be the day after tomorrow. I’ve been calling weekly for the past month and the answer is always “any day now”. How long do alterations usually take?

I ordered mine with six months to go. They kindly phoned me with a predicted arrival date (end of may/first two weeks of june. To my delight it turned up on Saturday! (Three months before wedding day)

i bought a sample gown, and have been in alterations since mid March, I still dont have my dress and the big day is 12 days away. If I go Bridezilla…this will be why lol
I’m supposed to go back friday, if its not done I’m going to ask for my $ back and go somewhere else and hopefully find a dress ready to go off the rack (or buy a gently used one locally in my size that has alterations already complete).
I dont think its quite stress time for you yet, but thats def cutting it close I think.
The first dress I ordered (and sold) took 4 months to come in, it was a davinci

Mine arrived about 8 days before we left for Maui Destination Wedding…I had 4 alterations appointments and picked the dress up the day before we flew out. Yes, I was kind of nervous that it wouldn’t be done in time, but it all worked out!

@sharontobemarried: Try not to worry too much yet, easier said than done though I know, you still have some time.
Mine took 6 months. If I had known it only took that long and about needing to pay for it’s safe keep I would have waited to order it.
