My ring sits pretty high but I only notice it when I am getting something out my back jeans pockets or maybe putting on a sweater (but most jeweler snags on sweaters lol) and I have long curly hair

Once you wear your new ring for a week or so you’ll probably not think it is high at all.  I’ve had one that was set low, one that was an average height off the finger and now I have reset my ring and it is pretty high, about 11 mm off the finger.  When I first picked it up at the jeweler I thought there might be a few problems with the height but I haven’t had any.  I’ve ben wearing a year now and I don’t even find it catches when I am getting things in or out of a pants pocket.  Look forward to seeing your finished ring!

Mine sits up pretty high but I love it. I banged it around when I first got it and had to have it reset. I’ve gotten used to it now, so it’s not a problem anymore.

I chose to use a setting that is almost identical to what my Grandmother had with the exception of using a cathedral setting for the center stone.  I was worried about it getting caught and knocking into stuff – but have been surprise to say that is not the case.  It is heavier than I anticipated though.

Mine is 6-7mm tall. I like the practicality of lower settings but I also wanted a high enough setting so that my wedding band could slide underneath, so this height is a great compromise.

I thought I might be bothered by the setting catching on things, and I didn’t think I’d be bothered by the ring spinning around or sitting slanted. Turns out it’s the opposite – so, you never know I guess!

My ring is set as low as it could be, based on the depth of my stone- that’s 8mm. I do bump it more than I’m comfortable with but the setting feels sturdy at this height so I haven’t had any problems. (I still jump and check it every time, though, just in case).

My grandmother knocked the whole head off of one of her rings once. And lost it in a box of cereal. That was a fun surprise to search through the box to recover.

I’m not sure of mine, maybe a 6-8mm? It’s not too high. Just right for me. It’s a cathedral setting.  Which I love. (Excuse the hairy fingers. One of my lazy days)
