My fiance and I are going to Greece for our honeymoon in July. We are spending three days in Athens and five days in Santorini. Any advice or tips for our trip? Also we used Unforgettable Honeymoons to plan our trip…Jordan is fantastic to work with and gave us a very nice value. I’m so incredibly excited!

Pepper15:  I think it’s because I copied them whole on my Phone so they’re mobile links, try deleting the “m.” At the beginning of the link

I lived in Rhodes for 2 years and then Athens for a short time. Island hopping is definitely the way to go in Greece. Each island has it’s own personality and Santorini is the quintessential white house, blue roof photo. Mykonos can be party central. Lindos in Rhodes has a wonderful beach down cobbled stone paths. You can eat well and cheap. Utilize the travel forums like tripadvisor, Frommers and Fodors. They’ll help with suggested itinerary and places to stay.

Unfathomably:  Hi, when did you visit Greece? I saw that temperatures in April/May go up to 65 degrees which isn’t beach weather 🙁

We really want beach but also ancient culture and amazing history. We would love to go to Greece as we are nerds to when it comes to politics and philosophy. I was hoping I got the weather info wrong and it was warm all year round :/

MuseForever:  I went in September, it was between 80-90 when we were there. Temps also depend on what part of Greece you are in, Santorini was cooler, the Dodecanese Islands were warmer.

Pepper15: Good choice. If you google Greece Athens Crete Santorini a bunch of links to travel forums come up from people asking similar questions as you on that itinerary as well as vacation sites.

Pepper15:  Island hop by boat. I would fly into Athens, boat to Santorini, boat to Crete then return flight or in reverse order. Ferry, hi-speed boat or Catamaran operate daily from Athens to Santorini. Ferry is bigger, cheaper & slower but has the outside decks. Hi-speed boats & catamarans are quicker but more expensive. From 4hrs plus depending on boat type. Less than 2hrs Santorini to Crete. I prefer boat over plane for this trip- cheaper, boat views and plane travel is more common so this mixes it up.
