I am getting ready to send out our Save the Dates & am not quite sure how to address an envelope to a family with children. I googled it & the only thing I can come up with is "Do not include children under 18 on the exterior envelope, put their names on the interior envelope"….well…I do not HAVE an interior envelope & I want them to know that the children are invited.
Would it be something like this?:
Mr. & Mrs. Brett and Amy Smith & Jane
Mr. & Mrs. Brett, Amy and Jane Smith
Mr. & Mrs. Brett and Amy & Jane Smith
Also for single mom:
Ms. Amy, Jane and John Smith
Help! – thanks!

There are lots of other treads about this so I suggest checking those out.
We had post cards for our save the dates and I just addressed them to: The Thomson Family

Yes – I just did a search on the boards and found one thread. I responded to hers.
However, I can’t believe I didn’t think of "The Smith Family". Duh – it’s perfect.

I’ve always used the following when addressing a family
If they have more than one child
Mr & Mrs. John Smith and Family
If they have one son or daughter
Mr & Mrs. John Smith and Daughter/Son
If they are single but have children
Ms. Catherine Smith and Family
and so on…

I think on the save the dates just stick to "The Smith Family" on a more formal invitation it is different.
