I found out today my job is illegally not giving me my breaks… I’ve worked 9+ hours without a break & in Oregon, that’s illegal (thru the state, not the feds). I need to file a claim with the labor board, but how do I proceed? Its a seasonal very scattered days job. I could file a claim annonymously & the office would get a warning. Obviously, if I’m the one making a big deal out of the breaks, they’ll know its me.
I could file it with my name, but my job would know it was me. I’m afraid they wouldn’t like me & either cut out my hours or give me the “bad shifts” cause all other 18 employees haven’t made a big deal about it.
If the labor board gets a few claims, they’ll investigate it & change it for everyone. I have a list of all the employee’s email addresses. I could create a fake email account & email everyone who works there about how its illegal & to file a claim. However, I’m not sure if I could get in trouble for that? Then, if I complained, no one would know I was the “starter” of all this. Help?
