@countrygirl12:  When I was asked to be in my friend’s wedding, she sent me a cute poem.  I don’t have the exact copy of the one she sent me at hand but I did just find a website that had a lot of cute options that you might like:

And, of course, Google is definitely a girl’s friend! You will be shocked of all of the creative things you find with just a few keyword searches like “unique bridesmaid invitations” or something like that. Best wishes on your wedding planning!

@countrygirl12:  So funny! Right after I sent you this reply, I found a post from another Bee with pictures of her invitation poems to her bridesmaids! Check it out for some inspiration. Smile

I picked out my bridesmaids before I met my Fiance. They knew they were my maids and it wasn’t a surprise. I think the only surprise was that my sister didn’t think she would be maid of honor. I asked her via gchat because she was having a shitty day and I knew it would cheer her up. The other two bridesmaids I just confirmed over dinner.

I don’t think it has to be special or grand. There are tons of cute ways, but if that isn’t you, you can just be honest and ask.

I called them and said…. would you like to be my Bridesmaid? Easy peasy.

Hell, I asked my bridesmaids over Facebook. “Wanna be a bridesmaid?” “Sure.”

It was awesome.

Edit: I asked my MoH over Skype. Text, not speech.

@Hyperventilate:

I guess we suck. We took the logical route.  Surprised

@dmk90716:  It was just easier. I knew my MoH was going to say yes, as we had talked about it before, so there was no need for an elaborate, “WILL YOU…” scene. My bridesmaids are two of my good friends + my husband’s cousin (who adores him.) so, I figured everyone was good to go.

I was a last minute bridesmaid in the wedding I was in. “So and so dropped out, can you fill in?” Sure, why not.

@Hyperventilate:

If my BMs ever sneak onto this board, they’re going to feel like they missed out on all the cards, poems and all the creations for something like answering a question. Literally, my Future Sister-In-Law and I were on the phone cooking for our respective families and all I said was. You want to be my bridesmaid? Her response? Sure! but I need to finish dinner. We’ll have to talk later.

@Hyperventilate and @dmk90716:  I was very similar. I hope my bridesmaids don’t hear about this trend of asking people in a special way, or they’re gonna feel gypped! I only asked one of my bridesmaids – my sister knew she would be one, as did my two best friends. I asked my SIL basically by saying “Given that you tortured me by having me as a bridesmaid, how would you like to be one of mine?”

All of my maids live out of state so I mailed some cute proposals in the mail. I thought they deserved to feel special too 😉 I printed everything at home and bought the rings from claires. The paper is from Michaels and the envelopes are stardream ivory.
