My fiance and I are having my cousin’s 4 children in the wedding party as flower girls and ring bearers (4 year old triplets and 6 year old boy). We’ve asked their parents, who were very happy to have them participate, but we’d like to do something special to ask the kids to be in our wedding party. I’d like the children to understand what we’re asking them to do so that they can get excited about it. They haven’t been to a wedding ceremony before. Our wedding is in 7 months, so they’ll be slightly older at the time of the ceremony.
Can anyone suggest a cartoon or movie that they could watch shortly before we ask them, so that they have an idea about it? I can’t think of a Disney movie that could help.
Does anyone else have any creative suggestions for when we ask them?
Thanks for any tips!

There are some sweet books for that purpose, just search on Amazon and they’ll come up. I couldn’t find one that was quite right for my situation, but ours was a little out-of-the-ordinary.

I just did a search and there are two really cute books for the Flower Girls, The Little Flower Girl” by Linda Tracey Brandon, and “Fiona the Flower Girl” by Carley Roney, as for the ring bearer, I can’t find any cute ways for asking ring bearers though!
EDIT: Just found a link for amazon – Flower Girl and Ring Bearer books they may love!

I LOVE the book idea! These kids love reading books so this is something they can keep rereading as the time gets closer! Thanks for the suggestions!

I just looked through several previews of Amazon books and this is my favourite so far:
It explains what it means to be engaged, and what a wedding is as well. I think this is the one I’m going to order. Thanks for all the help!

I looked for a book, but I was really concerned that they would say “you’d throw flowers” and then if i changed my mind and had them do something else, I would disappoint my 5 year old flower girl. So what I did wasmade her a story of my own. It was VERY simple with pictures from the internet and glued on construction paper. It took me about 20 minutes to make, andmy flower girl LOVES it. She shows everyone! I also got her the book about being a Flower Girl by Julie Andrews
For my ring bearer, we bough him a football from Oriental Trading Company that says “Official Ring Bearer” on it. He also loves it!
