I mailed my girls vintage hankies that I had done a tshirt transfer which I printed from my own computer onto Avery paper. It said three things that I love about them: creative, caring, unique… stuff like that, and said that’s why I can’t imagine my wedding day without them standing by my side. And then it asked, will you be my bridesmaid?

You can kinda see it here: http://cleverbetty.blogspot.com/2010/10/asking-my-girls.html

I’ve seen lots of other details on the Knot, project wedding, and style me pretty. Just make it personal and I’m sure they’ll love it!

I wound up with blank stationary cards and I found poems online asking the girls to be my bridesmaids. I picked a different poem for each girl that I thought fit her the best.

I cooked them a brunch on a Sunday morning and invited them over in their PJs to eat. The card was waiting for them at their seats.

Then we sat around the computer looking at Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses all morning while drinking mimosas.

It was a blast!

I made them cards and wrote a personal message on the back, why it would mean so much to me for them to be apart of it! And then I made cut-out paper dolls of each of them! (Even customized them! lol) And did the same for my Flower Girls! Also gave them a Bridesmaid Tank! They loved it and thought it was unique! I got my idea from a DIY on here!

Best of Luck!

I love the wine glass idea too! Was thinking that would be something we could do for the Bachelorette party!

@Mrs. Meowerson: I specially planned it for a weekend they all were in town for.

But, I ended up adding one additional out-of-town bridesmaid after I had that brunch…so unfortunately that one did not attend the original brunch.

All of my girls are girly so I sent each girl a cute headband that fit their personality and asked if they would “head” down the aisle with me and keep my “head” on straight!  They loved it!

I haven’t sent them yet, but I have all of the materials! I wanted to go super girly, and played up the colors black, white & pink!(not my wedding colors- just wanted to keep it fun!!) I bought them each a black & white tote that has “lovey dovey” phrases all over it in fun fonts, had their name embroidered on the back and then I filled it with a bunch of fake rose pettals in various shades of pink. Then I had my printer make up 3 quarter sleeve baseball style t-shirts in light pink with bold pink sleeves that said Bridesmaid across the back and their intial in a fancy font on the left breast pocket side. I put that in the bag too I also bought them each a wedding party/ bridemaid button and slipped it to one of the bags straps. I put a large bright pink bow on the bags handles with a circular card hanging from it that says ” will you be my bridesmaid.” I’m going to box it up and attach a card to the front inviting them to our wedding party :o) I’m so excited about it!! I’m going to have them shipped to each of the girls, b/c I thought it might be more fun for them to get a package and have to be a complete surprise! I already boguth them their gifts for the big day..even though it’s over a year away lol I bought each one the infinity necklace from Tiffany’s! I’m hoping they love it! I’ll post pics of everything once it’s all composed nd about to go!

Ok am I a jerk for not doing anything like this? Before I came to the bee I had already asked my girls, just on the phone after announcing our engagement. I had never even heard of this until I joined the boards.
