I can’t offer any help with the dress but have you tried a tattoo concealer? I have a foot tattoo and use it when I have business meetings. It works really well!

The back of the dress is beautiful. I’d definitely use makeup, I wouldn’t change the back of the dress at all. Speak to your makeup artist. Your tattoos can definitely be covered with proper makeup and it will last all day without transfering onto the dress, as long as it’s applied correctly by someone who knows how.

nj8386 :  that’s a gorgeous dress. I think makeup is the only answer. A bodysuit type thing would be seen.

Your seamstress can add a skin tone lining to the whole back of the bodice of the dress.

you can get a nude liner that is thicker/more opaque (or just have them double line it) — however in most cases if the tattoo is very dark (black for example) you might still see some shadows of it

the big “trick” is matching the liner to your skin tone and finding something that matches bc too light or too dark generally looks off

Just curious, what is the tattoo? It might look really nice with that back of the dress?

I would use makeup. They can get it last pretty much all day. But even if it transferred a bit, the fabric is transparent and the makeup would be the same color as your skin (read not noticeable). But to answer your question, yes, it’s possible to line the inside of the dress with a more opaque fleshtone fabric as well.

nj8386 :  Try Kat Von D’s tattoo concealer – I personally didn’t cover my art at my wedding, and work in an ink-friendly environment so I’ve never used it myself, but I’ve heard great things!

ancientculturesdramaqueen :  i second this. kat von d has some amazing products. makeup should work if it is blended and set properly. you should also look into CoverThat. i saw a video of it on facebook. it covers really well and it is waterproof. not sure where you can buy it though. good luck!!

OPs have great ideas the only addition I have is: Can you wear a nude no seam tank under the dress? Or maybe a slip?

Honestly, why hide them? I have a HUGE back tattoo and I had my dress designed specifically with a super low back to show it off. It looked freaking awesome in my opinion lol!

With that dress though, I don’t see why the seamstress couldn’t make that back part with a nude layer under it to cover things up but still look like your skin? Then again I’m no seamstress lol.

If you have to go the make-up route, ask whoever is doing your makeup if they have covered tattoos before. You may just get lucky and they might be really good at it!

Good luck.

PS I still wanna see said tattoo 😛
