I have been trying to break in and get used to my wedding shoes by wearing them around the Apt on the carpet. The problem in that I have leather on the bottom. After just wearing them for 10 minutes I could already see the wear on the bottom and I plan on putting letters in the arch and I will want pictures of that w/o worn looking shoes on my wedding day. How in the world can I break these babies in without wearing the bottom down? There is a logo on the toe area that will easily get worn away.

I tied plastic bags around my feet/shoes when I wore them around the house. LOL.

I’ve been wearing mine out. But then I’m not planning on having pics taken of the bottoms. I like Theresa’s idea. Or you could always put tape on the bottoms.

The problem with not pre-scuffing the bottoms is that they’re gonna be slippery…I highly recommend scuffing them a little! I usually just go out to the sidewalk and do a little twist.

@pinkpaperbride: That is a good point. That’s why I used these heart shaped grippers on my shoes.
They were useful and photographed beautifully.
I can’t upload pics from this computer but here is a link.

I once saw something where you fill up ziploc bags with water and put them in your shoes then place in the freezer. I’ve never tried it before, but I could see how it would stretch them out. However, I would worry that when it melts, it might discolor the shoes a bit. (Maybe try this first with another pair)?

@pinkpaperbride: I plan on scuffing those babies before my walk down the aisle! But I just want to make sure they are pretty for the detail shots. After that, the are getting twisted, scraped, and rubbed on the concrete! lol

I used to put masking tape on the bottom of expensive loaners for photo shoots. I returned all of them no problemo.
Just make sure to use good quality painters tape (usually blue) this is removed with no damage to the surface 🙂

@Mrs Hedgehog: Good call! I just don’t want you to have a walking down the aisle fail!
@Theresa90405: Those are SUPER cute! I may have to get some just for pictures!
