Hi there bees,
It is still about 2 years away, but we are stuck between two dates, the 2nd of May and the 23rd of May 2015.
Basically we liked the 23rd because it is in between mine and my partner’s birthday. This was his idea and I liked that he was thoughtful. At this time of May in Australia it has cooled down a lot so we would most likely have an early afternoon wedding. It would be fun to have a date exactly in between our birthdays.. would mean 3 weekends in a row of celebrating!
Our other date we like because in Australia May is Autumn, and on the 2nd there is actually half an hour more sunlight and the weather isn’t windy just yet. The weather is usually a whole lot warmer (as in up to 5 degrees warmer). It would mean we could have a beach honeymoon, and our three special dates (anniversary, my bday, his bday) would be two weeks apart.
So we just don’t know how to pick! Bees, how did you decide on your date?

@sunshinewish15: Ours is 24th April 2014 – so similar-ish time of year! (Australia too!) We chose the 24th because it is exactly 4.5 years from when we met. 🙂 His idea, and his only wedding request was that it be on the 24th of any month- I was overwhelmed by his thoughtfulness. lol. April was chosen beacuse I love autumn! And I like the 4.5 years part!

I vote the 2nd, so you still have all the special days close together but it is warmer with more sunlight 🙂 Although it is early May now and it is freezing, and I’m in sunny Queensland!

I’m in Melbourne and originally wanted 10/10 as a date, and because the weather will be great around then! Our chosen venue already had that booked though, and we opted for September but there were two weeks we couldn’t do and the other was unavailable so our wedding date kind of chose itself. I’m opting to look at it as the first week of Spring, so a perfect time to start our new life together!
Whatever date you end up choosing will end up being special regardless of the other occasions surrounding it, because it will be YOUR special day! 🙂
