Do you have any photos of yourself in some of your different hair colors? I wouldn’t do something drastic like dye your hair black, but it sounds to me like any of the colors you’ve tried would still look like “you” on your wedding day. I think it’s a silly notion to suggest that you want to look like your ordinary self on your wedding day. I think it’s the one day to go all out on hair and makeup so I would do whatever you feel the best in!

Talk to your stylist about what colors would be most flattering to your skin tone, and talk about your concerns. Because I was doing an updo, and I have darker hair, we went with a richer auburn color with caramel highlights and deeper lowlights. That way the updo didn’t just look like a dark mass of curls, you could see definition with the different shades of color.

sunshinesparkles:  I understand completely!  I am trying to look my best without changing too many things from what I normally do.  My opinion would be to look at photos of yourself and whatever hair color you feel you look most beautiful with is what you should go with.  In 20/30/40 years you will be the one looking back at your photos and will want to think you looked beautiful — not everyone else. 🙂  I have had my hair the same color for 20+ years.  I know I’m not changing it so that’s why I feel confident in choosing the ivory/gold dress.  The white looked horrible on me.  My wedding is in February and I’m not going to spray tan and risk steaks and I don’t tan in beds, so I’ll be fair skinned for sure.

sunshinesparkles:  Of all of those photos, which is your favourite?

I’m also a hair colour changer.  Right now I’m a dark brown with lots of red.  But I love my blonde hair photos the best.  I’m going to go light brown with lots of blonde highlights for the wedding.  Because that’s the colour I feel prettiest with.  And I love those photos the most.

I like the 3rd photo from the left, the one with glasses, light brown hair. I would def. choose which one you feel the most comfortable with and which one feels most like “you” though.

I think you should wear it in whatever way makes you feel your best. Out of the pictures you posted, I think the 3rd looks so pretty (is that light brown with blonde highlights?). I am also a serial hair color changer. My hair is a natural medium auburn, but I decided I wanted to be a blond-ish bride. I have been adding highlights slowly, I love it and I really don’t care if anyone else likes it (except FI).

It looks like you have a really pretty skin tone, none of the colors look bad. If you want the contrast that darker hair gives you, go with it. I really don’t think you could go wrong with your choice. Regardless of what color you choose, I am sure you will look beautiful.

I love option number 5 from the left, I think it’s gorgoeus. As well as number 7 from the left (or the very last one) . I’m a dark brown haired girl myself (Natural color is this mousy brown that I hate with a passion lol)
