I would suggest going to jewelry stores and letting him choose a style and metal that he likes best.

You could try palladium! I just discovered palladium a few days ago and I already think I am going to get my wedding band made of it one day lol. basically, it looks identical to platinum, but weighs a little less. The biggest difference is the price, palladium is MUCH less expensive than a platinum ring! The only downside is I heard that many jewelers are not equipped to repair or resize palladium, but that is already changing as it increases in popularity, so it hasn’t discouraged me!

The best way to find reputable vendors is through testimonials. Also, call them up and ask for a quote. If they’re friendly and helpful and you get a good vibe from them, then you’re good to go! If they’re unresponsive or rude than it’s best to look elsewhere.

ETA: Here is a site that has lots of men’s bands made of palladium!
