BOTH are seriously gorgeous, but I picked Single shank since you asked what would “stand the test of time”.

I prefer the single shank although both are lovely.

I love split shanks (my runner up ring was one!), but I think since you’re getting a halo, the split shank might be a little busy.

So I’d go with the single πŸ™‚

I prefer the split shank obviously because I HAVE ONE! I love it and constantly get told how unique it is. I love halos, but mainly see single shank bands so I love that I have something that is a bit different.

It will stand the test of time for sure, but will also stand out!

I think the only way you will really know is if you try one one. Have you tried either kind on? I personally loved the split shank but my hands are not delicate and it looked terrible on me.

@claireos: Don’t mind at all! The center diamond is 1.21 carats, cushion cut (but shaped more rectangular than square, so it faces up bigger). We looked at many different size cushion diamonds and 1.5 wasn’t too much bigger than 1.2 (because of the weight distribution) so it should give you a pretty good picture of what you might get. My ring size is 6 and all the diamonds besides my center equal 0.71 carats, so the ring is 1.92 total carat weight.

I prefer the split shank. I think the single shank looks very overwhelmed because of the size of the halo.

i love the single. plus it makes it so much easier to match bands and the band will sit more flush against the ering

single is easier to fit a band with, so that is what I would choose
