I’ve been having SUCH a difficult time choosing bridesmaids dresses!! I know I’ve been over thinking it, so that doesn’t help, but I just need some outside opinions.
Do their dresses have to be the same fabric? I found a dress I like, but it is made of taffeta, whereas my dress is satin.
Here is my dress:
And here is the possible bridesmaids dress:
My question: do they go together? does it have to be the same fabric?
The wedding is at 5 p.m. in a church, with the reception at the University my fiance and I graduated from. Not too formal or stuffy, no alcohol/cocktail hour. Our colors are purple and apple green.
If you have any other suggestions, please let me know! Only stipulation is that they need to be a reasonable price (around $100 or less), purple, and versatile on different figures.

They don’t have to be the same fabric at all. I think there is a way to do it where it is complementary. For example, what you have chosen. They go together fine. If you had chosen a cotton Bridesmaid or Best Man dress or something it would look weird but that looks fine to me.
I also think the silhouette you’ve chosen looks good on most body types. Not all, but most. Have you BMs try it on, make sure they don’t look horrendous and are comfortable, and I think you’re good.

That dress looks cute! I don’t think the bridesmaids dresses need to be the same material as the bride’s dress. In fact. . .I can’t think of one wedding that I have been to where they WERE the same! Do they sell the bridesmaid dress at the same store as your dress? Or do they have a sample of your dress at a store they sell the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses? You could always put them next to each other if you’re really worried.

I was having the same problem as you, over thinking and picking two different fabrics but now that I see your dresses, I think they look great together!

Thanks for the advice, everyone! I think I’m just going to bite the bullet and go with that dress! I’ve been stressing myself out about it far too much. Plus, all my bridesmaids like the dress, so that makes it easier!

What a gorgeous bm dress! I think it’ll look great with your dress. I am wondering exactly the same thing about finding a moh dress to go with my dress (ivory taffeta). Where did you find your bm dress?

That’s a really cute bm dress (and yours is beatiful too!)! I picked something similar because I think it will be flattering on all my girls’ figures. My dress is taffeta and the bm dresses are taffeta too. It’s B2 by Jasmine if that’s helpful for anyone else 🙂 Sorry, I don’t know how to make the picture the right size…
