We went with mine & fi’s favorite colors, and then added a base.

We ended up with white [the base color], black [fi’s color], and pink [my color].

@CladdaghDreams920:  My fave color is purple. I wanted peach dresses but it did not compliment my girls’ skin tones. We needed something warm but springy to go with our venue decor. So we ended up with eggplant, peach, ivory, lavender and coral as our palette. (IDK how the people who sent flowers sent pink spray roses and called them lavender but it was too late to worry/care) It turned out pretty and we received a lot of compliments on it 🙂

I’d say look at your home, what colours do you have in there? Presumably they are colours you like and are comfortable with. I’ve seen tons of colour schemes that I love, but I just kept going back to navy and pale green… they’re just colours that I always gravitate towards and know that it’s based on my tastes and not necessarily a fleeting trend.

I think it also depends on the time of year you’re getting married and the theme/vibe. If I ended up doing a beach wedding, I probably would have done coral and gold. Again- colours I gravitate towards (I buy pretty much every coral top I find in spring and summer), and a bit more fitting for the venue.

My favorite colois purple, his is pink. From there, I found a shirt that added yellow that was pretty. Then I realized it reminded me of Lisa Frank, so we added the blue also.

@CladdaghDreams920:  I knew I wanted my girls in black for ease because I didn’t want to have them in matching dresses and I wouldn’t have to worry about shades of black, any black dress would do.  I wanted to keep things simple so I bought ivory sashes for each of them to make the look more cohesive and told them all to pick any long black dress they wanted.  I’m going to keep those colors for the linens and decor, so the room will be something like this:

For flowers I asked Fiance what color he wanted.  He said “I don’t know…I like red…” so red it was.  Then I hit pinterest, typed in “red wedding” and found this photo:

Showed it to Fiance and he liked it too so red, purple ivory and black are our colors.  Many of my decisions were based on laziness (having to find a dress that all of my girls like sounded like an awful lot of work…) but I figure there’ll be plenty of work to do without giving myself any extra.

There are so many pretty color combos out there, I’m sure you’ll find something that appeals to you!  Check out http://www.theperfectpalette.com/ for inspiration.  Good luck and have fun!

I LOVE a clean crisp black and white, so I found a damask print fabric that I liked.  For a pop of color, Darling Husband chose teal (for his fav. NFL team).  We had teal tablecloths and teal Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, with damask runners that my mom made.  We did white roses with black and white pearls.  Here is a mock up I did before the wedding.

@CladdaghDreams920:  I’ll share my colour journey but be warned, it is not pretty. I had always wanted a peacock coloured wedding, so I shared purple and green with the love of my life. Who then proceeded to tell me that if those were the colours, he was going to wear the Joker’s outfit. I thought about screaming but chose to walk away. Pick your battles right? I then did some research (Yay Pintrest!) and came up with purple and yellow. That’s when he pulled out the colour wheel online and proceeded to tell me that we couldn’t have purple and yellow since they weren’t 90 degrees on the wheel. I decided that I was too young for jail and walked away again. After speaking with Future Mother-In-Law, I learned that shades of one colour would work best. And the shade of purple wedding was born! We’re doing lavender and liliac with grey for the boys and yellow accents.

I wish you an easier time than I had!

@jenilynevette:  We did the same. Husband’s fave colour is black, mine is red, so our colours were black & red!
