I’m sure this has been asked before, but what’s the best way to safely clean your ring? My engagement ring is 14K white gold with little diamonds along the top part of the band and lots of etching and open scroll work on the band- I love it, but it’s forever getting dirty, stuff stuck in there, and the like! The whole thing definately needs a good, thorough clean and polish. We don’t live particularly near the store where my fiance got it. What is the best/safest method to clean it?

I use the jewlery cleaner from any drug store (or wal mart etc etc) its about 5 dollars and safe on diamonds! I would reccommend that!

I use aka Connoisseurs cleaner “the red jar”. You can find it pretty much anywhere & it’s pretty cheap. Here’s a pic so you know what to look for.
I’ve also heard Windex is safe to use too but I haven’t tried it yet.

I also have white gold and small diamonds on my band, and I also use “the red jar.” (Mine was $5 at Walmart.)
Edit — I had it backwards about the ammonia. It was Mr. Clean that I heard as well; I called my ring shop!

I asked a professional jeweler and she said that at their store (and the majority of jewelry stores) they use ammonia & bleach free Mr Clean diluted 50/50 with water and a soft toothbrush. I did this for a while and got great results! I soak my ring for about half an hour and then scrub it with the brush. Our rings sound similar in style so I know what you’re going through 😉 At a bridal show I used this pink stuff called Sunshine Cleaner or something like that and it’s AMAZING. It’s all natural, ammonia, bleach free. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. The Mr Clean does a really good job, this stuff just adds an extra bit of sparkle.

My cousin is a jewler and he always told me that you can use Mr Clean and water (50/50) and a toothbrush and that will work just as good as any jewlery cleaner.

Here’s the Sunshine stuff, I found it online. I tried it at one bridal show, and two weeks later it was still super sparkly and amazing, so I bought it at the next show I saw them at.

Wow! Thank you ladies, I will definately try one of these. I can’t wait to have my ring all sparkly again!
