@v_smoothie:  I’m not going to be much help, because I’m in the same situation. I posted my tattoo and got a 50/50 split – half saying to cover it, the others saying to leave it! So needless to say, I still don’t know what I’m going to do either. I think I may test some cover-up makeup to see how much would rub off. But here’s my tattoo peeking out!

Don’t do it – Please ๐Ÿ™‚ It is ‘yours’ – and the coverup has never stayed (i’ve never seen one that does) and it will get on your dress – if you decide to resell you won’t get your money’s worth.

Edit: Forgot to mention OP – your dress is STUNNING! ๐Ÿ™‚

Let it show! It’s art! ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t have any but love seeing brides with them. Be proud.

I say leave it. You got it for a reason, it’s part of you! Mine didn’t show in my dress, but I wouldn’t have covered them.

let them show!  you got the tattoo because you like whatever it is you got.  it is part of you and makes you who you are.  to cover it is to change who you are.  imo.  i was super paranoid about the SO not liking my tattoos because we met after i had gotten all of them so far (8 of them) and he assures me he loves them and doesn’t want to me to cover them.  the dress that i have in mind will show all 3 of them on my back off, one of which is a pinup girl.

let them show! :  )

Dermablend.  You can get it at Macys or Ulta.  You can get the setting powder with it so it doesn’t rub off.

Or your MUA may be able to airbrush over them, I don’t really know, but you could ask during your trial.

I think it’s beautiful and wouldn’t cover it up.

However, you can.

Zombie Boy (A guy with his torso and head tattooed to resemble a skeleton) posed for this video for a tattoo coverup makeup.

Here’s the video: http://bozemanskissfm.com/zombie-boy-covered-in-skeleton-tattoo-in-flesh-colored-make-up/

Here is the company’s website: http://www.gobeyondthecover.com/

ETA: Here is their product links: http://www.dermablend.com/index.aspx

It appears to be quite durable and resistant to rubbing. I believe they used wet sponges to scrub it off, but even then it took quite a bit of scrubbing to get him clean.

If you want to cover it up the Kat Von D tattoo concealor at Sephora is pretty good especially with a few coats. You need to set it with a powder but even then it would likely leave some kind of mark on your dress. Not sure how much better Dermablend is.

If you really want to cover it up just get a shrug or something that will cover that area of your body – not sure practical for a late summer wedding though.

I was going to cover up my wrist tattoos for the wedding because it would make the husband very happy but he has to see them every other day of his life why I should I cover it up then?

I’m covering up the one between my shoulder blades, mostly because I can’t get a proper ink coverup done before the wedding. I’m using Hard Candy Glamoflauge.

I vote leave it!  I don’t plan on covering mine when the time comes.  A girl I know had her wedding featured on a wedding website yesterday with her tattoos out and beautiful!

Let it show!  You got the tattoo for a reason- it’s a part of you!  I think tattoos can be beautiful, and it makes your wedding look uniquely yours.  The bottom line is to do what makes you comfortable- if you think you’ll dwell on the tattoo showing than cover it, but you also don’t want to be worrying about the makeup rubbing off all night either.  It’s your day!

I was also thinking about this, not for tattoos, but for a couple of obvious scars I have. In the end I’ve decided not to bother. I don’t want the concealer rubbing off on the dress, plus everyone at the wedding probably knows about them so it’s no big deal.

I don’t get why anyone would cover their tattoo unless they’re ashamed of it or hate it or something. ๐Ÿ™‚ If you like your tattoo, show it proudly!
