I have a friend like this. But we’ve been friends since we were like 3 and are now in our 20s. I’ll text her about stuff (could just be a funny movie I saw) and I won’t ever get a text back for days until she texts me about something completely irrelevant to my text. It’s SO annoying. She deals with anxiety/depression so I try to brush it off as that but every time she texts me i always text back right away, but if it’s something I want to talk about I never hear from her. Sometimes I feel like just ignoring her too, but honestly she’s my only friend I have so idk what to do about it.

buzzingbeez14 : awe bee I’m so sorry you’re going through something similar. I do have two other friends but none as close as her. So I totally understand. Sometimes I also feel like just putting up with it because we have been friends for so long and she’s the closet friend I have. It’s a tough situation.

Ahhhh ok. With the updates it sounds like she just doesn’t really care and is kind of a jerk. It almost seems intentional.
I’d let the friendship go. Life’s too short to waste time chasing around people that don’t respect you and care about your feelings.

Ahh I see – I do wonder if there is some anxiety or something going on but not sure. I would either try to talk to hrer about it or just put more space between us. Especially how old you mentioned her being, mid/late twenties tends to be the time a lot of friendships can change and either get even stronger or start to drift apart. Give her space and see if she starts making more of an effort or not.

myardley : if she’s your best friend then she deserves a phone call, not just texts. Leave her voicemails if you have to. You never know what she’s going through- often times when someone doesn’t respond to texts/is unavailable for a while it’s BC they have issues in their life. Call her.
