I’m like your Fiance if people other than my Fiance tell me they love me, it’s crickets.

My grandmother says “I love you” everytime she gets off the phone with me but I don’t like saying it to anyone but my Fiance and my son so I usually just say “okay c-ya”. I’ve been saying that since I was 3 though… maybe you could talk to your mom about it?

Did he tell you hes uncomfortable or is this from observation?

Well if you are a love-y type family its something he will have to used to! Just make it clear its a gesture of endearment or greeting/farewell, not something intimate. He def doesn’t have to say it back, but just be jovial or give a pleasant remark afterwards 🙂

Or just tell him to be thankful yall aren’t Argentinean. When I met my FI’s family , every person- male ( like eww uncles, their accountant, pharmacist and cousins) and females kissed me twice, once on each cheek and always says “strong hugs and kisses” after talking. hahahha .

Do you think he’ll work up to it?  I love my FH’s family completely, they are absolutely perfect and awesome… but it took me a lot longer to get close to them in the way I am my own. I don’t call his parents Mom or Dad, either, although he does that with mine and I consider his family as my family.

I’m not sure why, now that I’m thinking about it, I just don’t… :

Were your mom’s feelings hurt? If so I’d mention it to her, but otherwise maybe not.

Anyone else thinking “ditto”?  No other Ghost fans?

Haha, I’m kind of weird about it too, so I usually just say “you too” if DH’s parents (or really even my own parents) say it to me.
