I’m getting married in September at a marina. The venue is great, but there is an ugly building in the background in the walk up to the aisle
we will have a different arch, btw. Any thoughts on sprucing up the building and hiding the Coke machine?

steckarrr: one of those doorway entry things people are using now days just get one made that is a bit longer.

Hmmm I don’t know that I would bother actually. Guests are not going to notice, they will be facing the other way. Photos will be mostly from the other direction and any photos that would be facing the building the focus will be on you, not the background.

I agree with PP. I don’t think it’s a big deal. Guests will be facing the other way and same with pictures. That’s the view I would concern yourself with.

Thanks for the reassurance! I saw some photos online of another wedding at the same venue and the building really stood out! I will ask my photographer to avoid those.

steckarrr: you could rent some tall potted plants (bamboo makes a nice screen, but other varieties carry string lights well or could be decorated with poms, etc) to break up the building.
Julies will hopefully pop in with suggestions, she’s really good at these decorating the venue questions.
