Hi all ,
I am going to use the basic chairs that are available at my venue, they are beautiful but I also would like to add something to dress them up for my wedding. My wedding colors are purples, grays/silver, black and ivory.
I am thinking to order satin sash chairs and make bows for the chairs since my theme incoporates a lot of bows in decor because my dress has a big bow on the back. Also I would like to add some “bling” in the bow sashes like some sort of brooch.
I’ve been trying to decide on the purple shade I want to use and I chose the victorian lilac purple shade because its not too dark and its not very bright color.
I want to have elegant decor but also have modern touches. Any ideas on how to dress up those chairs? I dont want to cover them completely, but want to add something to them.

i think, chair covers are the best choice, there is lots of ways you can decorate chair covers.
you can make them your self

That venue is gorgeous! I guess I’m partial to chair covers but I think chair covers would just complete that room and you wouldn’t need any other decorations.

Hmm..I actually dont like chair covers. I’ve been thinking about it and if its worth the money to even add sashes or anything on the chairs. The chairs are beautiful and have some kind of design on them that makes them elegant.
I am actually thinking into putting more money towards centerpeices and uplighting or light decor instead.
The question now is , do I have to dress up the chairs for the wedding? I am trying to have an elegant yet modern wedding.

I think the sashes would look too busy, actually. Not a fan. You would look out over the room and see a mess of busy sashes. I say either go for simple covers, or leave them as is. Also, most places charge a couple bucks per sash to tie them on – and that adds up. Even if your family will do it, it’s a lot of time, and they may not all look even ,if you have several people tying them differently.

I think the chairs are a neutral color, and that not adding anything would be fine. I’m actually not a fan of chair covers, but I’m sort of stuck as the chairs in our venue are a weird color that does not blend into the background.

I say leave’em the way they are and focus your money on other items. My wedding venue has the same chairs (and actually my wedding colours are quite similar to yours). I decided that once everyone is sitting down it really won’t matter what is under their butt or behind their back 😉
I am getting some cool material for table squares to add some colour there. I figure if anyone notices i don’t have chair covers (which I doubt) and says anything about it….well then you are at the wedding for the wrong reason.
