Hi Bees! I’m wondering what you ladies think of the chandeliers/light fixtures in my reception venue. Here is a photo of the space:
We will be having cafe/globe lights hung instead of the fabric ceiling treatment. You can kind of make out the chandeliers in this picture, and I really don’t like them! They have a wrought iron ivy design all over them… There are matching wall sconces as well. Do you guys think they will be noticeable (am I having a bridezilla moment here?) Would it look tacky to drape strings of crystals over them? Should I ignore them? Thanks everyone 🙂
Edited to add – Any ideas on how to hide/fix the terrible wall sconces while we’re at it? You can see them in the picture too.

Ignore them. Trying to hide or disguise them will be more energy and/or money than what it’s worth.

From the picture they don’t look that bad, I’d just ignore them. Trying to disguise them might draw more attention to them.

I honestly don’t think they’re all that ugly. Probably best to just ignore them, like PPs have said.

I would just ignore them, but if you really can’t live with them, you could try one of two things:
- ask the venue to remove the shades, so the bulbs blend in more with your globe lights
- hang an umbrella or a pretty parasol from the chandelier to block the view. If you can find the right one it could look like a Fortuny fixture
