- Wedding: December 1969
We are getting married in the mountains of South Carolina (FI and I live in Atlanta). We are both originally from Michigan, and want to throw a second reception (not a huge undertaking, more like puch, cake, a few nibbles) for the people we know cannot go to the destination wedding.
My question is this: we want to include about this reception in our invitation, but how to do so? A seperate reception card, saying if you can’t make it to South Carolina, join us on x date? Or should this be a totally seperate, much more informal invitation? I know there are some people I would like at party #2, like my Mom’s co-workers, that I do not want to invite to SC (nor do they expect to be, we are trying ot keep it small) that I do want to invite to party #2. Perhaps include a seperate reception card in the invite, and then an informal invite to the rest that we are not having come to SC?
Augh, etiquette makes life difficult sometimes!
