Happy New Year Bees!
So I’ve hit the <6 month mark, and I am struggling a bit with the timing of the big day. How do you estimate the length of the ceremony? Even if I read it all the way through, I have no idea how to estimate the time for all the BMs to walk in, light the unity candle etc. Any suggestions?

@ivoryowl: I tried… and failed monumentally! Ours was scheduled to be 30 minutes and it was more like 50!

I have no idea. I’m NOT an emotional person, so I wanted to avoid reading the actual wording of the ceremony before the wedding in hopes it would resonate better the first time I heard/said the words. What I thought was a 20 minute ceremony was actually…. MAYBE 10. I think as long as you estimate by +/- 10 minutes, it’s no big deal. A couple extra minutes to greet people right after the ceremony or 10 minutes less time for cocktail hour shouldn’t bother people too much.

Talk to your DOC. They should have an estimate of how long the ceremony will go.
