I’ve been a stay at home mom for 8 years. Most of the off putting comments have been from men too, “oh so you just watch tv all day” kinda shit. I bust my ass all day cooking meals for my family, I clean the kitchen 3 times a day. I sweep the whole house and mop the whole house. I do a shit load of laundry every single day. It is rare that I’m sitting g on my ass watching tv. Actually, I hardly even watch tv. But as a hispanic woman, it’s expected in my area for the woman to stay home. So I don’t get too many horrible remarks…every woman stays home at some point in her life here where I live. You don’t have to justify any of your choices to anyone. As long as your husband isn’t struggling to pay bills and ya’ll aren’t living pay check to paycheck and the house is taken care of and meals are being made…fuck anyone who looks down on you. It’s a tough job, yes a job!!! You don’t get paid, but a woman that stays home has ALOT of house work and errands to run on a daily basis. Good luck to you and don’t ever let anyone make you feel bad because you don’t slave away at a shitty office job all day. There is an Asian comedian woman on netflix and her comedy regarding stay at home wives and mothers is hilarious.

Yes it’s certainly a lot of work and I do absolutely not think it’s ok to say rude things to a homemaker.

The thing you seem to be missing though, is that everyone (or a very high percentage at least) has to do laundry, clean their houses, cook food and run errands. So the people who “slave away at a shitty office job all day” have to “slave away at a shitty office job all day” and then do all those things on their free time. Or are you under the impression that working people’s houses clean themselves?

sexymama118 :  I’m not judging anyone’s choice to stay at home rather than work outside the home but I think it’s silly to call staying at home and doing normal errands and tasks a job. People who have actual jobs come home at the end of the day and do all of those same things- maybe not as many times per day or per week but they still get done…
